Is this climb & slide suitable for a 3 year old?

we had planned to buy DC who will be 3 in a few weeks a climbing frame with slide for the garden but they are all out of stock and as much as I had hoped they would come back they won’t be now for a while longer.

As a back up we have found a second hand little tikes climb and slide that could be used in the interim.

However - are these suitable for 3 year olds or will DC be too old for it?

Dc3 is 5 and I’m pretty sure he’d still like that! So yes, I think a 3 yr old would love it.

IMO he will be too old for it OP sorry, the slides are quite small, go for something abit bigger so it will last your DC longer. Have a look on eBay x

Yeah, definitely too old. Sorry.

Defiently too old!

It depends on how big your 3 year old is, but mine outgrew this toy very quickly sadly. It's lovely and sturdy, but can be a bugger to assemble/dismantle.

I'd agree with pps, these are more aimed at toddlers. You might half a year out of it before you'll be wanting something bigger.

StayAlert · 11/05/2020 00:54

We had this and the DC had definitely outgrown it by 3.

Can anyone recommend anything suitable as a gift for the garden for a 3+ year old that he would be excited about ?

Water table? Or those water table things with boats in, sand pit, a larger slide? Have a look at outdoor toys on Argos I’m sure there will be lots of ideas there

Little Tikes Wave Climber Slide is good. You can only get them 2nd hand now though. It's about double the height of the one that you showed a picture of.

We got our climbing frame this year from Climbing Frames UK. They delivered within a week. It's fantastic.

So glad we got this one as heard awful things about some other sites - who don't cut wood to length, bolt holes not drilled, anchors not supplied, no delivering etc.

Took long enough to assemble as it was - would have been a nightmare having to cut and drill everything too!

DS has just turned 4 and the Aldi climbing frame is the perfect size for him. They might have some more online, if not Argos has a very similar one.

Agree with others, too teeny for a 3yo
We struggled to find a decent slide for our almost 3yo recently - most either teeny and will soon be outgrown, or much bigger for older ones
Smoby do one which is kind of wavy and can extend - if you can get hold of them - they’re quite in demand because of lock down! Can also attach the hose and turn into a water slide
