Molluscum question

DD has had these lumps on her back for quite a while. The pharmacist said it was molluscum contagium, but the lumps have been there for at least 6 months now. The larger one has developed a red ring in the last few days. Does anyone know about molluscum, and why it would suddenly go so red?

Yes. Both mine had it for over a year, looked really awful then sudden they go red and disappear over a couple of days as if they'd never been there. So hopefully you're at the end of it. Possible if she's scratched it it's an infected one but I do think that's them leaving.

Thanks for your quick response, fingers crossed this is the big lump going then!

Honestly I was amazed, dd was plastered in them then one flared up as in your pic then they all went. I think this is usual but it's a very odd condition. Hope they're gone soon.

(Sorry, not being clear, one flared up then they all went, not flared up one by one)

Oh I hope that's a sign of molluscum finally leaving. DS had a cluster of 3 of them on his stomach from Jan. Since lockdown they have gone absolutely turbo. We tried to treat them with Molludab but that seems to have made them worse and they have now spread all over his stomach and are looking very angry and red.
