I have been coveting a mattress topper for years. My bed was a groupon deal and what with me (fat) and 3 big dogs sharing it, the mattress was lumpy and bumpy.

On MN recommendation I bit the bullet and bought a Panda bamboo topper - more money than I would normally spend but what with CV-19 I thought sod it - carpe deum and all that jazz.

It is gorgeous. So soft and supportive at the same time. I can't wait to go to bed. My dogs love it too in fact one loves it so much he builds a nest with the duvet and throw and chills out on it for most of the evening.

Thank you MumsNetters for the recommendation.

Ooh that sounds like just what I have been looking for.
I have wasted so much money on terrible mattress toppers, that failed to deliver on the promises they made!

fourquenelles · 09/05/2020 13:31

Worth a shot bumpsadaisy11 they have a 30 day money back guarantee if it doesn't suit (not on commission btw!) Oh and they delivered in 2 days!!

I've been thinking of investing in a good mattress topper for a while. I can't quite justify a new mattress yet, but if I can find a topper that will prolong the life of my mattress I am up for that!

We bought a new mattress recently and now I REALLY love going to bed. I often go an hour or so early just to revel in reading in my comfy bed. Nothing better than sorting your sleep system.

LottaHogs · 09/05/2020 17:03

Does it make you hot at all? We tried a memory foam (or latex) topped mattress once and I used to wake up around 1am absolutely boiling hot.

Notthecarwashagain · 09/05/2020 17:08

Ooh this sounds interesting!
Every morning just lately I've woken up feeling uncomfortable and stiff and grumpy

I don't want to buy a new mattress because I just cannot face dragging the old one down the stairs- and also can't afford it anyway!

Thank you for passing on the recommendation!

fourquenelles · 09/05/2020 21:35

@LottaHogs I haven't found it too hot so far

I've been debating whether to get one too - do you have a link please OP?

Thelnebriati · 09/05/2020 22:04

Can you use it with an electric blanket?

fourquenelles · 09/05/2020 22:30

Panda Bamboo Mattress Topper link here

Can't help re electric blanket but I am sure the company can answer that.

I dont think you can because its memory foam, but I could always take it off in winter. It looks nice and thick.

onlinelinda · 10/05/2020 04:13

I bought a topper for a similar price from John Lewis and it's great after 2 years. Has ruined me for hotels.

buffalopuff · 10/05/2020 05:08

Out of interest, why does the link say 'paid on results' when you first click through? Can anyone explain?

fourquenelles · 10/05/2020 05:42

@Rowanmumsnet can you explain?

Just to reiterate I am not being paid by Panda Sad

OP posts:
DianaT1969 · 10/05/2020 05:46

Paidonresults is affiliate marketing software, meaning purchases are tracked and the recommending click link gets commission. I don't know if it is Mumsnet who have an account with them and any links on here are channeled through to potentially earn commission.

MountainPeakGeek · 10/05/2020 05:51

It's not you OP. Looks like Mumsnet use Skimlinks to auto-convert retail site links that members post into affiliate links. They then get paid commission if people make a purchase.

Toddlerteaplease · 10/05/2020 05:52

I've got the panda topper. And it is absolutely amazing. The pillows are good too. Their customer service is really good as well.

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 10/05/2020 05:53

really? Confused

Blurpblorp · 10/05/2020 05:55

I just bought an Emma mattress which took some getting used to but now I love it. It's a joy to go to bed Grin I know I sounds massive but what difference does a mattress topper actually make?

Blurpblorp · 10/05/2020 05:56

Ha ha sounds *naive GrinGrinGrin

Blurpblorp · 10/05/2020 05:57

Also *sound what's wrong with me?!

MountainPeakGeek · 10/05/2020 06:10

YesIDoLoveCrisps: really?

Is that directed at the OP or about the affiliate links stuff I posted? If me, then, yes, it's clear that Mumsnet are using Skimlinks, and it's fairly common practice for forums...

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 10/05/2020 06:16

I didn’t know that. It doesn’t seem very ethical. I know they make money from the ads on the site because there’s been some controversy about it but I don’t realise mentioning a product makes money.

MountainPeakGeek · 10/05/2020 06:32

It does feel a bit sneaky. It's not going to be everytime someone just mentions a product. It'll be when someone directly links to a product from a company that does the affiliate kickback thing - the link the OP posted would have been the normal/direct one, but it was converted to one that tags Mumsnet as being the originator and therefore they get paid (only if it results in a purchase.)

buffalopuff · 10/05/2020 07:59

That is a bit sneaky! Shouldn't affiliate links be clearly marked then by mumsnet? I remember they used to go to a mumsnet link (which I think was also affiliate) first. I think they should make this clearer.
