Can we talk about growing mushrooms?

I am spending an absolute fortune on mushrooms at the moment, especially shitake. They are so good for health and the immune system.

So I have started to think about growing my own. From a quick internet search I see shitake are not necessarily for beginners.

Ive seen some kits on the Amazon. I also see that mushrooms grow well in coffee grinds and we get through lots of these daily so have a rich source available.

Are there any mushroom growers among our numbers that can point an amateur in the right direction?

Sorry op I half thought this would be about magic mushrooms!

Not that I know anything about it either way

If you live near a Waitrose, when the free coffee offer is resumed obviously, we put the used grounds outside for people to take away.

I think you can get beginners' mushroom kits online.

We grew mushrooms once, in a dark cupboard in the house. They out grew their container and grew up the walls too. Never again!

You have been warned.

Wow! Yes I don't think I would want that.

I've seen some kits online but I was hoping to get some pro tips.

Oyster mushrooms are easy.
Try a kit for them first, then consider coffee grounds as that's a bit more involved.
They don't need special conditions, unlike some other species and they are low cate
