A news story a few years ago. A man on the run from the police in the UK. I think he had quite an unusual/distinctive name. Was on the news every day as the police couldn't find him (they did in the end). It went on for a week or two - he was armed and dangerous. Presented by the media as a bit of a crazed lunatic. Can anyone remember this? What was his name?

I can't remember his name (sorry) but was that the guy that Gazza got involved in trying to reach out to him etc- and he was found hiding up a tree in the end?

Mapril · 08/05/2020 11:38

Was that the Gazza related bloke or did I dream it?

Tonii1985 · 08/05/2020 11:38

Oh goodness - just remembered that poor police officer was blinded by him.

I'd forgotten about Gazza's involvement.

He also shot and blinded a policeman who eventually committed suicide. The Gazza antics rather overshadowed the stories of the people Moat murdered and the lives he ruined.
