Anyone have the iPhone 11?

I had an I phone many years ago but since then switched to android and have had many different makes. I can early upgrade for free to either the iPhone or the Samsung s20. The main thing I need is a phone with a decent battery and I quite like the sound of apples security.

So basically anyone who has the iPhone is it any good?

Pretty much the same size as my P20 Pro it was replacing (it's a smidge smaller)

I had a Sony for 6 years (after 2 years with an iPhone 4) and got an iPhone 11 end of last year. Absolutely love it and won’t go back to android now

That green looks lovely

I’ve got the 11 pro so it’s a dark green one I’ve got.

Purpleartichoke · 07/05/2020 20:11

I’ve got an 11 in gold. Quite happy with it.
I upgrade once a year because I’m on a lease. It’s my one big life indulgence.

The only thing I don’t like is that a popsocket absolutely will not stick. I get hand cramps without one so I had to put a thin case on the phone to attach the popsocket.

I just upgraded from the 8 Plus and I really like it. It's smaller than the 8 Plus but the screen goes edge to edge, which my last phone didn't have.

I've had iPhones since the first one was released though, and it hooks up to my MacBook, which I like. I took a brief Samsun detour in around 2012 and bloody hated the thing - nothing but problems with the wiring so my internal speakers wouldn't work. I've been a diehard Apple Wanker since Grin

I’ve got the 11 in green and love it, the battery lasts for ages, I upgraded from a 6s which had a new battery but lasted nowhere as long as my 11

EveryLifeHasASoundtrack · 07/05/2020 20:21

I’ve always had iPhones and I’ve had an iPhone 11 for about 6 months. I really like it, as others have said the battery life and camera are great. It’s a nice size. I’ve got it in red and it’s really nice, I got it from Very when they had an offer on so saved over £100. Amazon sometimes have offers on them as well.

fiddlysticks · 07/05/2020 20:37

I've got the yellow one, I love it. Battery lasts 2 days and camera is great. Always had iPhones though so can't compare to android.

Godzillasonice · 07/05/2020 21:42

@fiddlysticks does the yellow one look the same as it does in the pictures?

godzillasonice it looks a bit paler than in the google images.

Thanks for the reply now to decide and put in for my upgrade.

The red is a lovely metallic red (DH got that one before me and I'm still sulking), purple is a matte lilac-toned grey if that helps.

One thing worth mentioning is it's the model with no home button - depends how well you'll adjust to that - I'm fine with it but I have iPad Pros without the home button so I'm very used to the gesture substitutes anyway. No headphone jack as is the norm now - but you get lightning earphones in the box (but my ears aren't generally the right shape for Apple earphones - I can cope with my AirPods though just about)

Just wish the purple was the same deep metallic shade as the red cos that would be EPIC. I like silly coloured phones - I've had the two tone metallic Huawei the last couple of years.

Godzillasonice · 08/05/2020 11:18

I'm used to no home button as I don't think I've had one in years. It did take some getting used to to start with. The red does look nice. Not sure it's me though. I used to have a red iPod that I loved back in the day.

I’ve got it, the camera is amazing, beautiful photos. However it’s far too big. I found out the new SE is the 11 in a smaller casing, so I wish I’d gone for that. I remember when having the smallest possible phone was the in thing, I’m not sure I like the fact the new iPhones are always so huge. I genuinely struggle to use it one handed.

sindylouwho · 08/05/2020 11:26

Great thread! I've been looking at the new se too! I've got a 7 and don't know whether to go for the se or 11

Godzillasonice · 09/05/2020 18:11

I've ordered it. I went boring and ordered black so it would go with any colour case. Now I'm hoping I haven't made a mistake. Why am I always so indecisive.

@Godzillasonice when is it arriving?? Let me know what you think. Though I'll probably order one tonight

I think you’ll love it. My son has it in black and it looks really smart.

It was delivered yesterday morning and all my doubts have gone. It’s amazing and just works. Never thought I’d go back to Apple again I do feel a bit like I’ve gone over to the dark side. It’s going to take a bit of getting used to as I’m not used to face recognition and keep looking for the fingerprint scanner on the back of my phone and looking for the back button at the bottom of the screen. As you can see I’ve been trying out the camera already.

My (water reaistant) iPhone 10 got water damage after it started to rain while jogging (it was in my pocket)

It was one month old and water damage not covered in the warranty even though it was clearly faulty. I will never by an expensive iPhone again.
