Half a job Harry... powercut moan.

Powercut last night. Not all lights went out at once. Our house and a few others went out straight away and others flashed on and off for a while then all out..
Out came the power people to fix it. I gave up waiting at 4am and went to bed as I could see they had got some houses back up but were far too far away up the street to be nosy to ask about progress.
At 5 I woke up again. Despite the street lamp outside our house clearly not working, they have buggered off after getting the rest of the street back up and logged the job as resolved. Our terrace of 4 houses has no power. I've had to re report it and now can't sadly catch up on my sleep as they are sending someone out at 7am.

I used to work in gas and electric supply. So not quite the same.

Leaving you without electric is really bad. If there's a problem with your meter, supply companies have to treat you as a priority and cant just leave you off.

I would take some time googling their guidence.

Do you know why they left?

Do they actually have to enter your house to fix? I know in the past when there have been problems with electricity here it has been sorted from outside, some people were at work.

If that isn't the case let's hope they don't take too long and then you can go back to bed and enjoy.

I can only assume that because they saw all the other lights come on from where they were at the top of the street they didn't notice our street lamp wasn't on. Or.assumed it wasn't lit due to a different reason. I don't think it's our meter as that wouldn't cause the street light to stop working too. It's too early to bother my neighbours to see if they have power or not.
Someone has just knocked, had a quick look at our setup and has gone to see what's happening at the sub. Says it may be a fuse somewhere. As long as they are sorting it I'm happy.
Dh slumbers on as he has work so isn't up yet.

I am not saying its the meter. Its not if you are all off.

I am saying they can't knowing leave you without electric.

Hopefully it will be back on ASAP.
