Trying to explain to him that even with evidence of various sorts that there’s rarely a conviction for assault/rape even fucking murder. “No but in this situation where it’s in public and there’s evidence I can’t believe there wouldn’t be a conviction” after trying to explain to him again and again that “this situation” happens everywhere all over the world every day and doesn’t get a conviction, am I totally wrong to be really pissed off with him?

Couldn't bring myself to be pissed off by this. I think it's common that women are groped or touched inappropriately, but I don't think it's common for a man to fully ejaculate on someone. As someone who works in law enforcement, if there was CCTV and you had semen (DNA) on you it probably wouldn't be that hard to get a conviction if the perp could be tracked down.

Also, sorry OP but the statement that there's rarely a conviction for murder is nonsense.

Shambala ive probably worded that incorrectly. I was thinking of the sex game gone wrong and now she’s dead sort of murder. Not general murder.

Even so, I think in the UK there have been around 15 uses at trial of sex game gone wrong as a defence in 5/6 years, and more than half were found guilty of murder, then a handful manslaughter. Yes, some were found not guilty but most were sentenced. The issue is with the courts and soft sentences, they will still have been arrested and charged. I think YABU to be pissed off at your DP.

I thought they handled that storyline really really well - and realistically.

Get him to watch it to the season finale. That might make the difference.
