Schools are mentioned a lot but nothing is said about smaller settings ! Surely they should go back before school, the younger ones present a very low risk of catching covid-19 no ?

No one knows, so why are you asking?

NoKnit · 05/05/2020 20:30

Younger ones are much more unable to keep the 2 metre distance, touch everything, put things on mouth etc it is no wonder. Kids constantly sick when they start nursery always something going around

Also it would mean nursery teachers going back, who would have a higher risk of catching it.

They will go back fairly soon as without childcare people cannot get back to work. Social distancing will be exempt because of personal care needs of the children in the same way it is in hospitals, prisons etc. and bar the usual PPE for nappy changing etc it won't be worn, again due to personal and social development needs of the children. Instead, frequent handwashing and controlled handovers so staff don't have to come into direct contact with parents where possible will be implemented. I think years R-3 in primary will be the same.
As long as those who can socially distance do, e.g office staff it will mitigate those that can't e.g. nurseries, prisons etc.
