I have a question to ask of you all. I'm pretty thick skinned, so don't worry about being honest but please don't be cruel for the sake of it just because it isn't going to be useful. Thanks Daffodil

I'm 5' 4" tall and weigh around 10st - 10st 5 - not sure exactly, haven't weighed myself in a while. I'm short, but not 'petite' - I have quite broad shoulders and hips which are in proportion.

My measurements are 39 - 29 - 40.

Based on that, what sort of assumption would you make about my appearance/body shape?

Thank you.

I'd wish my figure was like yours!

WhatAmIWhatIsThis · 05/05/2020 17:23

Really? I'm getting a little bit tired of being told I need to lose weight and various other negative comments about my body shape.

I think I'm ok. I was beginning to wonder if I'm just deluded.

Thanks.

Given your info your BMI is normal. Who the fuck is commenting on your body?!

MissMarks · 05/05/2020 17:29

I would think you were a normal sounding size but not thin

WhatAmIWhatIsThis · 05/05/2020 17:32

RedRed9 men I've dated. With the exception of the current one who just doesn't appear to find me all that physically attractive.

MissMarks that's pretty much what I think too. I've been a couple of stone lighter and, tbh, it didnt suit me - I looked almost skeletal and out of proportion because of my frame. I'm probably at my best half a stone lighter but even that didn't stop the comments.

Curvy. In a Marilyn Monroe sense Grin

I'm 5'5" and (on a good day) just under 11 stone and could do with losing a few pounds. I also have broad shoulders (when shoulder pads were a thing I would take them out of clothes and people didn't notice).

I'm a bit surprised by your waist and hip measurements, which are slightly larger than mine were last week - are you holding the tape quite loose?

Your weight suggests you aren't carrying any excess - unless you have bones on the small side, which broad shoulders contraindicates.

Do you feel or look floppy? I can tell where the extra is because it doesn't look the same as my forearms and calves.

merryhouse · 05/05/2020 17:42

Oh, well if it's men they're probably noticing the broad shoulders and subconsciously thinking this woman is big.

Why are you dating someone who doesn't find you attractive? That seems... a little odd.

Moonshinemisses · 05/05/2020 17:54

I'd say curvy., not slim but that isn't a bad thing. How do you feel about yourself?. I'm 5' 10 and 10 stone 5 I'd say I'm an athletic build. I would suggest you lose the wanker not the weight

WhatAmIWhatIsThis · 05/05/2020 17:55

merryhouse not holding it loose - not tight but close i suppose. I don't think I'm 'fat'. I'm 'soft' around the hips, bum and tummy and would probably benefit from losing that half stone but it wouldn't make that much difference. I can't 'pinch more than an inch' as it were. Bit surprised why?

Yeah, I know... 🙄 No one really seems to though - not once they've 'got me'. I can't remember the last time I had a relationship where my body was complimented. Probably my ex husband who said he loved the crease where my bottom and thighs met and we split up over 8 years ago! I'm just content to have the company nowadays.

I was told I was 'warm and soft' once - but that's not exactly sexy! 🤣

Moonshinemisses

I think I'm fine! I dress well for my body shape (I think!) I wear mainly wrap style dresses because it's difficult to get things that fit properly otherwise and I think they flatter me. I'm beginning to wonder if that's the problem. Men always seem disappointed when they see the body underneath!

Like I say, I probably look best at around 36 - 26 - 37 (my proportions stay pretty much the same regardless of weight gain/loss) or thereabouts- whatever my measurements were the last time I was 9st 7/9st 10 (just speaking roughly - I'm not a slave to the scales tbh I go more by measurements).
