I just took my DD out for a walk in the buggy and flipped the hood screen over so I could see if she'd finished her snack... and I found this! I rarely put that bit back so god knows how long it's been there. Anyone know what it is?! It's made me feel all gross and itchy

It looks like something's been trapped in the hood with a spider and it's been. Cocooned
Then the spider buggered off Grin

TwerkForTeachers · 05/05/2020 16:28

That looks like an insect nest of some sort

I'm going to have to burn the house down aren't I?

Looks like fluffy mold. Theres a sort of brown stain around it that could be a food smear or damp thats attracted mold.

Smellbellina · 05/05/2020 16:31

Definitely need to burn it, sorry OP

bananallamas · 05/05/2020 16:31

Oh and any ideas how to get rid of it other than just setting it all on fire?!

I'm pretty sure that's a harmless caterpillar, just wash it off and put it in the bath with some warm bleach/washing up liquid water then let it dry in the sun.

TimeWastingButFun · 05/05/2020 16:47

(I've seen something very similar inside our garden parasol after being in storage in the garage over winter).

RyanBergarasTeeth · 05/05/2020 16:57

Ohh sorry the photo didnt load to show the blackthing. Eek maybe pp are right and it is a sort of caterpiller. Just grab it in a load of tissue and throw it outside

bananallamas · 05/05/2020 18:49

A caterpillar would be a good outcome i think. I can't deal with much more than that :-D

Going to try and get the buggy cover off and put it in the wash (after I've wiped it first) and now wondering what half eaten snacks I may find...
