12 year old - swathe of spots over fore head, then clear, then come back then clear and they seem to be in the exact same place? Same with a patch on the chin? Is this normal? I dont remember spots in the same place for weeks that came and went?

Sounds pretty standard to me. My dd has them on her chin or around it and they definitely pop out more on the run up to or during her period. I used to get them at the side of my nose each month....spots are usually hormone related, I think.

She has moaned/asked me about them, however I have made light of it, said it's her body growing and maturing and it's normal/nothing to worry about. She seems happy with this.

Yeah, forehead, chin and sides of nose. I had very greasy skin too. Gentle cleanser might help

DS1 gets most spots around his chin on the left hand side. That's where his hand always is. I e right hand on the mouse, chin in left hand

Hormones have a lot to answer for. Look at ways in which their hair falls over their face, whether they rest their chin on their hand etc. This stuff 2-3 times a week has helped no end with my 13-year-old's skin, and Teenvital vitamins.
