Hello all,

I am new to this and I hope you can help. I have a 3(soon to be 4) year old. He is in the process of diagnosis however it is obvious he has a level of autism. He will need a school with an asl unit or has some close support for assisted learning. Anyway we are going to buy a house and I have no idea as to where is a good area to move to. His education is the number one priority. I have been told all sorts of thing but not by parents who really know. We wish to stay in the North, West or NW of Glasgow so he is close to his Nonna who helps my fiancee and me. We also wish to stay in the one place for both his primary and secondary education so knowledge of a general catchment area would be great. I know we will have ot visit schools to see how our wee boy likes it but I have no idea as to where to start or what schools have a good rep by the parents who matter. Anyway I hope you can help me in the right direction. I would also like to say i hope you are all doing OK in these times. I have difficulties with my son, a lot of difficulties but I do think of those single parents who have a lot more to contend with. Love to you all and I hope you are all getting the support you all need.

Thanks again xxx

Have a look at bearsden. There is a primary school (bearsden primary) and a secondary school (bearsden academy). They both have provisions for SEN children- you can contact the school directly for more info x

Thank you for your response. Its very much appreciated. Funnily enough we have looked at property in that area. We may struggle to afford that area but we will see. I would need to have a look at the catchment area. I presume you can get that off the council website. Thanks again

yes, you can put the postcodes of the properties you are looking at in here and it will tell you of the catchment areas x
