What is the first thing you will do

when conditions are relaxed enough for you to do it?

Are you desperate to race at as soon as possible for a pint and a curry? To go to the theatre? To have a mooch round the clothes shops?

I know these things will all be permitted at different times, but the one thing I am going to do as soon as I am allowed is jump in my car and drive to visit my parents, who live around 200 miles away. I am missing them so much.

Listen to people talking under my window.
People watch.

Go to my mum and dads for a cup of tea and a Kit Kat!

Echobelly · 04/05/2020 22:06

I dunno as I think there's not really going to be a time when you can 'just do' things - I think the release of lockdown will be so gradual, and the initial sorties into 'normal' activities so not like normal that it'll be more of a case of realising some months down the line 'Oh, I'm in a public place without a facemask' or 'I'm in a restaurant with a normal number of tables'

Mojitomogul · 05/05/2020 08:12

I'm hoping the release is quite gradual as thinking about all the things I'd want to do is quite overwhelming and makes me feel slightly panicked if anything!! But first things will be bikini line wax Grin and a massage! And see friends for Wine at the pub. And would love to go to the theatre.

heylittlehenwhenwhenwhen · 05/05/2020 09:03

Go and see my friend who has been on a very strict lockdown on her own for weeks.

I am not in the UK and I can do this on Monday. Can't wait!

hellsbellsmelons · 05/05/2020 09:05

See my dad and give him the biggest hug ever!!!
Can't wait for that.

userxx · 05/05/2020 09:07

Friends, hair, nails, beer garden for an all day session with lovely food. Can't wait.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 05/05/2020 11:31

Hair, eyebrows and lashes definitely! Mine has text me to squeeze me in ASAP once lockdown lifted bless her Grin it's the only thing I treat myself to and it makes me feel great.

Laska2Meryls · 05/05/2020 11:35

Go and pick up the campervan that we bought a week before lockdown.. ( that was seriously bad timing for such an expensive purchase)
Visit my Dad and also my lovely MiL on the way back..

KnobwithaK · 05/05/2020 11:40

I don't think it's going to be one immediate release of the lockdown conditions, at least not for people like me (pregnant and partner is vulnerable). We'll be taking things very carefully for months, whatever the official guidance is.

Mainly I want the baby to get here safely and then to be able introduce her to my parents.

Sparklingbrook · 05/05/2020 11:41

Hug my family especially my parents and new nephew.
Haircut (I have wavy hair and currently looking like a lost member of Bon Jovi circa 1984)
Eyebrows done
Pub!

ADreamOfGood · 05/05/2020 11:47

Go and get MIL, and have a huge meal together and play board games.

@Laska2Meryls what kind did you get? Here's to lots of great trips Wine

LST · 05/05/2020 11:53

Pub... camping and letting the kids stop their nans 🤣

Ninkanink · 05/05/2020 11:57

I want to get my nails done again as I am missing my gel nail manicures.

Although, I might pick up my own gel curing light instead.

Otherwise I’m looking forward to going out for lunch with DH, having my daughters over and hanging out with them at their place, and spending a sunny day in Bath/doing some shopping.

homemadecommunistrussia · 05/05/2020 12:00

Go and pick up d's stuff from university!

GetTheSprinkles · 05/05/2020 12:01

Barista coffee & baby classes :•)

GetTheSprinkles · 05/05/2020 12:01

Oooh and planning to dye my hair rose gold as a treat

MitziK · 05/05/2020 12:05

Set the alarm for 5am.

I'll be in work.

Kids won't educate themselves.

I might have the energy to get my eyebrows done at the weekend, though. And a pedicure. That would be really nice.

2beautifulbabs · 05/05/2020 12:08

See my parents brother sil and friends that's all I care about not bothered about shops I do however want the freedom to be able to take my DCs out for long walks again or to the local park.

Littleshortcake · 05/05/2020 12:10

I'm not sure.. I'm really struggling today Sad. I bought an led lamp for my nails and I have a lumea. I have been able to cut my hair using tips on YouTube and I don't have highlights or anything.

But I feel so low today. So bored of the same routine. I've kids and dh (who is driving me a bit mad). But I miss normality.

TreacherousPissFlap · 05/05/2020 12:44

Haircut first and foremost. My hairdresser only works two days a week and I work shifts, so the stars will need to be aligned for me to be seen as soon as they open.
Pub next. We live in a small village and it's the heart of our community. I'm bored of shouting to people across the street and am really looking forward to sitting at the bar or in the garden and just chatting again (as is DDog1 who pulls us to the pub door every time we walk past)
Seeing DM, though her journey to us necessitates a hike across London so I suspect this will require me to drive the 500 mile round trip there and back to avoid this.

torthecatlady · 10/05/2020 22:25

Have a takeaway / games night with friends.

Hair, brows, wax, massage, dentist, optician... the works!

Cluelessbeetroot · 10/05/2020 23:28

Hackney canal walk with DP, followed by overpriced poncy meal Grin in a small independent place
