Received this in the post today. I didn't order it. It was addressed to me although my name was spelt wrong. What the hell is it?

Do you have any friends/family members who have sent you stuff via PayPal/eBay? A birthday present maybe?

I’ve sent stuff to family members by mistake by selecting the most recent address when paying, or accidentally clicking on an old address.

DarylDixonsHair · 04/05/2020 22:16

Hmmm, I did order seeds a while ago from ebay. Perhaps they've sent someone else's order to me instead. I don't recognise the packaging though.

@changemind No, unfortunately I don't know anyone that would send me drugs as a surprise. Maybe Boris is sending out tiny packets of hallucinogens for us stressed single mothers. I did Google microdosing a while ago, that's probably it 🧐

I would not germinate... Could be worse than giant hogweed seeds. I would chuck into council composters if possible so that it was recycled but didn't germinate. Or burn it in stove (cold here).

DarylDixonsHair · 04/05/2020 22:29

@YeOldeTrout 😯 I just googled giant hogweed. I was going to sprinkle them in the back garden but I think I'll nuke them instead now.

lol, sorry, I just thought about weird invasive species and harm they do. Plants can get killer viruses, too, although shouldn't be any on a dry sample. I am truly laid back but I think I'd burn them before I'd plant them.

Ask Twitter, someone on there will know

theothersarenotme · 05/05/2020 03:34

Lol at creepy AI Google

Reginabambina · 05/05/2020 03:42

If it’s gone from China it may be part two of their world domination plan. First they released covid to force the world into lockdown to get people into gardening. Now they’re sending out weaponised flower seeds. Plant those things at your own peril OP.

theothersarenotme · 05/05/2020 03:48

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

BarbaraofSeville · 05/05/2020 03:56

There's a scam that involves sending cheap random crap to people to generate positive reviews, as a marketing strategy, so it could be that.

I thought the suggestion to plant the things was a good one until a PP mentioned invasive species, which I hadn't thought of. So the obvious thing would be to bin the package and forget about it. Annoying though.
