Thanks to those who replied earlier today when I posted this in AIBU Trying here for traffic.
I'm 56, having asymptomatic menopause, not on HRT or owt else. Am normally healthy apart from taking thyroxine.
My boobs have gone crazy, they have been behaving unreasonably for the last year.
The left is swollen, tender, painful and covered in tiny red pinprick spots, some raised. The right is normal size (approx 2/3 of the size of the other one), also spotty but no swelling or pain. The basic skin is the normal colour under the spots. It doesn't look like pics of IBC.
I went to the local breast clinic on the 2-week pathway last September, had a mammogram and ultrasound and was sent on my way after the radiographer spent all of 2 minutes then dismissed me as a hypochondriac, which I'm not at all.
I got a second opinion at a city teaching hospital where the service was atrocious, I was fobbed off, lied to and again made to feel I was making a fuss about nothing. I am not.
I've been taking 3000mg of EPO daily since December, no difference.
Latest is big red blotches of bright red, raised marks like dry skin around my bra line.
I want to believe the fobbing off I've had i.e. 'this is normal at your age' but my boobs have ALWAYS been small, quiet and well-behaved, this is not normal for me. The swelling is painful, the rashes are getting worse, AIBU to demand a third opinion, I would be very grateful to know if anyone else has had anything like this.
