I have pleurisy.
It is agony.
I've been led on the sofa all day dosing on and off while the DC watched adventure time. (Yeah, yeah, shit mum alert. I'm far too unwell to do much more than lob sandwich in their direction, and even then the 11 year old made it)
I'm now in bed and have managed a solid block of an hour and a half and now I'm up and in agony once again.
Please talk to me. Anything at all, just come and chat to me.

Sorry you’re going through it at the moment OP!
I’ve been thinking a lot about holidays tonight as it’s just something to take my mind off being stuck here in lockdown! So my question is what’s the nicest holiday you’ve ever been on? What can you recommend? Also what would your dream holiday be? Smile

DramaAlpaca · 03/05/2020 00:10

Oh that sounds nasty, poor you Sad Hope you've seen your GP and got whatever you need?

Don't worry about spending the day flopped on the sofa, do whatever you need to do to get better - rest and sleep as much as you can. The DC will cope.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

BadTimesAtTheElRoyale · 03/05/2020 00:13

I empathise I had the same 12 months ago it is agony. Just do what you can your 11 year old can mange cereal and beans on toast for the family for now. Hope you feel better soon. I was feeling better after 4 days in after meds

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 03/05/2020 00:17

I'm keeping topped up on pain killers. Hospital said its viral so no other meds.
I have an oxygen monitor, and if my oxygen drops below 90 I've to go back to hospital and be put on oxygen.

Holidays...
I've never been abroad, and never managed a holiday as an adult!
I do remember going to visit family in Scotland when I was a kid though. Saltcoats. My dad was born in Ardrossan, so we'd walk it into Ardrossan, visit the castle and then back to the beach at Saltcoats. There were some big ricks that me and my brother would hide in and play star wars on.
And we found a jellyfish washed ashore and bounced rocks off it until my mum told us off

Bless you. Sounds like a shit day for you. Kids were no doubt fine. How many do you have? What ages? Is it just you?

I have 3. They have played way too much computer games since lock down - boys played fortnite for too long today. Youngest two are asleep I daughters room tonight having a sleep over.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 03/05/2020 00:25

I have 3.
DS1 is 11
DD is 6
DS2 is 4.

The 11 year old is fab and does what he can to help, but he had a heart attack a couple of weeks back and I worry. He's fine in himself and sick of me telling him to sit down!

The 6 year old is horrid. She's a wind up merchant. Luckily she's been brilliant today. She is generally well behaved when she knows its serious.

The 4 year old I suspect is autistic. He struggles, but because today has been very much low arousal, and watching something he loves, he's been OK too.

I think I'll do the same tomorrow and not feel guilty about it. They need me healthy, thats the most important thing right now.

Its just me. Partner of 12 years upped and left out of the blue in January Hmm cunt.

I'm up! What is your condition? I've heard of it, but not sure I know what it is?

I'm up, I have endometriosis and have pretty much ignored my kids for years on and off during flare ups, please don't feel guilty!!

I'm currently surrounded by hot water bottles and about to take pain meds to hopefully sleep.

What pain relief do you get?

iklboo · 03/05/2020 00:27

Feel for you chicken (cos we're virtual mates). You need to take care of you so you can get better. Can your mum help out a little bit? Even if it's only bringing shopping for you? Rest as much as you can. You need to. Pleurisy is no fun and a pretty major thing to have.

Frankencream · 03/05/2020 00:29

Your ex is a dick! You’re better off without someone like that in your life though. Definitely no need to feel guilty about the kids- they won’t starve or be left out in the cold! They still have a mum who loves them and they’ll understand that you’re in pain at the moment and won’t hold it against you. Sorry to hear about your eldest, you guys have had a shit 2020! hope he’s well now though Flowers

Its basically where the lungs become enflamed and sore. Im on dihydrocodeine (sp?) Which is good stuff, but makes me drowsy.

ikl my mums bringing shopping for me on Monday, and is going to give the house a proper clean. I know we aren't meant to have people in, but given the circumstances we are breaking the rules.

Omg. Your 11 year old had a heart attack!!!!

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 03/05/2020 00:34

Frankencream
We really have! DD had scarlet fever not long ago too. My stepdad has been laughing asking if there's anymore diseases or conditions I'd like while I'm at it.
And my brother has made me promise never to visit an ancient burial ground or the pyramids etc as he said it would be my look to disturb some old disease and catch that!

Your kids are brilliant and you're a great mum. Glad you're getting some support.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 03/05/2020 00:36

Mumdiva99
Yeah. He has floppy heart valves anyway which they think is the reason. No lasting damage to his heart (apart from what he already had) though, so just keep an eye on him and hope it doesn't happen again. He sees it as a badge of honour Confused little weirdo Grin

whynotchangemore · 03/05/2020 00:37

I like the sound of your brother! 😂

That sounds really painful, and I assume it will go away with time? And drugs?

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 03/05/2020 00:38

Yeah, should ease on its own. I have dickofenac anyway from my other conditions and apparently that will help as its an anti inflammatory

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 03/05/2020 00:39

I cant seem to spell tonight. And my phone doesn't want to help. Autocorrect is shite
