Present ideas for Son's 18th Birthday during lockdown please

His big present is going to be a laptop (all family clubbing together) but can't buy that atm.

I'm looking for things for him to open on the day but useful things cos I don't want to waste money if you know what I mean. I've already thought of an engraved pint glass and bottle opener. Already got the obligatory pants and socks!

We're going to have a bbq for just us and zoom with family and friends but obviously it's not going to be how he would normally celebrate.

Any other ideas please?

We gave DD a portable DVD drive to go with her laptop, a portable speaker and yet another spare pair of headphones. Is he going away to uni? If so, bits & bobs like a USB multi charger, mini screwdriver set, door wedge etc could be birthday stocking fillers.

Red letter days and not on the high street are worth a google. both deliver direct.. A redletter day experience wouldbe good as they often have 2 for 1 deals so it would give him something to lok forward to with a friend too maybe?

oh and cadburys and hotel chocolat have some fab things in the chocolate and sweet dept! Maybe a hamper they do some fab ones .

Why can't you buy the laptop atm? You could order online and everyone could transfer the money?
