Sure start maternity grant

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me out!

I am just about to finish my degree and will be classed as a student until mid July, I have not worked in around 3 years due to doing my degree and I am 27 weeks pregnant is there anyway I can apply for the sure start maternity grant? Students can't apply for universal credit and by the time I'm no longer a student and therefore eligible for universal credit I will be close to giving birth.

You can get it up to six months after your baby is born so when you get approved for Universal Credit you will then be able to apply for the grant and get it.
