Hello!
Long term mumsnetter.
I do not work for this company but this is a great deal on some nice gin:
thedropstore.com/collections/city-of-london-distillery
Ours arrived today and I was very impressed!
Distilleries are going through a tough time right now and could use your support.
Also, gin.
And they throw in some hand sanitiser.

You had me at gin.

JingleCatJingle · 30/04/2020 23:12

Lol! Kids have finally got to sleep so the taste test begins now.

I’ve had their Christopher Wren gin before and it was very good.

Oh, why did I see this. After buying a little too much gin in a black Friday deal, I vowed to not buy any more until I'd drunk most of what I had, and we're trying to rein in unnecessary spending due to income uncertainty. Gin is necessary, right?

As well as the offer posted by the OP, there's also some good multi buy deals, I'm particularly tempted by the 2 for £45 Liverpool gins. I like the orange one but it's normally nearly £40 for one bottle Shock.

Tempted by several are sold outSad. You must have bought a large consignmentGrin

Rebecca75 · 01/05/2020 09:16

Woops, only logged on to have a look through the chat threads and now I'm £45 down..!

BarbaraofSeville · 01/05/2020 09:35

I managed to limit myself to two Liverpool orange gins (but at that price it is nearly buy one get one free) and one of the City of London ones that was in stock.

But I've also succumbed to the Northumberland cheese hamper that was advertised on Facebook so in the last two days I've spent close to £100 just on gin and cheese. Blush

Do not click if you cannot resist bargain hampers of artisan cheese.

The Christopher Wren was a Craft Gin club a few years ago , I've bought that deal (3 for£45) and got a mini sample and a bottle of sanitizer!

Fabulous Grin

MagnoliaJustice · 01/05/2020 09:44

Aber Falls distillery in North Wales do a fabulous orange marmalade gin too.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 01/05/2020 11:10

Oh I’ve been after the Gooseberry Whitley neill for ages but couldn’t find it, thanks OP!

BarbaraofSeville I’m so tempted by that cheese hamper!

Ohffs66 · 01/05/2020 11:47

Can I please have some recommendations from all you gin connoisseurs that are a bit different but not too strongly flavoured? I don't drink it that much and normally go with a very standard Hendricks or Bombay Sapphire, all the violet / rhubarb / parmesan (okay maybe not...) ones scare me a bit!

Blue5238 · 01/05/2020 11:47

Thank you! Have bought City of London gin before at full price.... Awesome deal!

MilkNoSugars · 01/05/2020 11:52

I may have just bought 3 bottles of the city gin for £45, what a bargain- thanks OP ThanksWineHalo

Well my stocks are running low and I fear lockdown may continue for a while........!

RJnomore1 · 01/05/2020 15:58

I’ve bought cheese

RJnomore1 · 01/05/2020 15:59

Oops posted too soon

I’ve bought cheese but I’m trying to hold out on gin as I have a few to get through

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 11/05/2020 17:08

JingleCatJingle thanks again for the tip, my order arrives today with a free sample, hand sanitiser and a branded glass. Really pleased with it and had never heard of the company before

Impropriety · 12/05/2020 01:27

What was the deal? They look like they arw all £29 each... is that back to normal?

YippieKayakOtherBuckets · 12/05/2020 06:34

The deal was 3 for £45.

BarbaraofSeville · 12/05/2020 15:55

Well mine was despatched yesterday and the courier who's name stands for 'Drop it, Hide it, Lose it' according to some clever person on the internet, appears to have lived up to its name and lost the package according to the tracking info.

Have asked the Drop Store to sort it out with them, so lets see what their customer service is like?

The package not turning up today is probably a good thing in a way because if all was in order, I was probably going to order the Aber Falls marmalade gin and something else that I had my eye on, even though I don't need to, but having seen SILs gin bar on FB, I don't have too much gin after all.

TheFlis12345 · 12/05/2020 16:12

I may have also just ordered the cheese! Grin Thanks for the tip off!!
