Virtual mobile number

Hi, I have 1 phone that is used for personal and business calls. I want to get a virtual uk mobile number that I can give out as my business number which can be turned on/off. The reason is so that I can control the times that work colleagues can reach me, so as not to interrupt leisure time. I don’t want a second phone or a second sim.

Does anyone have something like this? Any recommendations for a service that does this?

You can get a Skype number. Sign into Skype on your phone when you start your work day and sign out again at the end of the day. Phone won't ring when you are signed out, calls will go to Skype voicemail.

The only issue with any VOIP service used for making or receiving calls is that your phone doesn't realise you are on the phone, it just thinks you're using the internet so if someone dials your actual mobile number your phone will still ring. I can't remember if it still happens but I seem to remember a time when I might have been talking using either Skype or Whatsapp and when my mobile rang, it took priority so my VOIP call was dropped.

You can get iPhones with two SIM cards. I have to wonder if it would be easier to get a basic phone that you can turn off.

You can also get dual SIM Android phones.

Get a basic Nokia, like the 3310.

I have a Skype number that I have redirected to my mobile phone for work. When I dont want to talk on the business line, I remove the redirect. It's a bit clunky but works for me.
