What do you do to make house cleaning easier?

I hate house work, but I love a clean, tidy house. Do you have any tips for making it easier / more tolerable?

I try to clean regularly, so there isn't a build up that becomes overwhelming. I also have a cordless vacuum, so it's not such a faff to do a quick clean.

Anything else?

Dh isn't working at the moment, so has been spending most days gardening or decorating. Normally we have a cleaner, and share other household tasks.

I dislike cleaning, the thought of having to do it is actually worse than the doing though I find. We usually have a cleaner but for now it's back to me.

Never ever wear shoes in the house to help minimise dirt, always rinse the sink after brushing teeth/washing face/DH after a shave, use a dustpan and brush to sweep up the bits dropped in kitchen so they don't get kicked around the house which then requires daily hoovering. Use a good flathead mop with the correct bucket - it makes mopping so much easier. Wet cloth rather than duster on any non real wood surface so you clean dust away rather than push it around. Shower spray and squeegee shower glass after use to avoid limescale build up. Just discovered that an alcohol spray is absolutely fabulous on glass and mirrors - absolutely no streaks because it quickly evaporates. Handheld Gtec/dyson for stairs.

I just lower my standards. Works very time.

Get DH to do half of it. He does the dusting and hoovering, I do the laundry, bathrooms and ironing. We split the kitchen duties. Feels like we're keeping on top of it, just a bit each day not a total blitz on one set day.

Tomm for me too although also like unfuck your habitat.

Leave the house everytime when we have the opportunity, lol.

There are two things that I always do. First and my favorite: leave the house and have an agency clean it for me (here you go: www.airconservicingsingapore.com/chemical-wash/ ). Second: I make everyone leave the house and clean it by myself. As long as my husband and my kids are at home, there is no way I can clean it. Having a big house is quite a challenge for us as everybody wants to have fun, and most of the time, it’s only the mom who has chores. I believe that many of you will understand me. Yet, there is not much we can do about it. In case there are any life hacks, please share!
