Challenge: DP brought home 6 eggs - what can I bake?

Calling on the baking goddesses of Mumsnet. I was moaning to DP that I have all the standard baking supplies (flour, various sugars, baking power, golden syrup, cream of tartar, butter, milk, etc) but no eggs. So he's brought me 6 eggs. But now I'm totally stumped for how to use them up when so many recipes don’t require that many eggs.

I have no jam or cream or fruit or anything like that, so whatever it is will need to be pretty plain.

Also neither me nor DP actually like eggs, so no option to use them up by eating them boiled/scrambled etc.

Any ideas for something I can bake?

Are you my DSis

She once phoned me because she'd bought 6 eggs so her DD could do some school egg blowing thing at Easter and she didn't know what to do with the other 5 and did I want them, which flummouxed me a bit because we go through about 2-3 dozen a week here as both DP and I have eggs for breakfast several times a week, plus baking, Yorkshire puddings etc so the concept of someone not even being able to use half a dozen eggs in the 3 weeks you get before the BBE date is an alien concept to me.

For future reference, some Morrisons sells loose eggs for 20 pence each so you can buy as few as you like.

Clementine cake?

sueelleker · 30/04/2020 16:03

It's not like he brought home pickled badgers livers.. Dad brought home a tin of something called gaffelbitters once; no-one ate them. www.definition-of.com/Gaffelbiter

They are eggs , I panic if I have less than 6 in the house if you don’t want to make cakes try a broccoli or marrow savoury bake , loads of recipes online .

Hagisonthehill · 30/04/2020 16:15

Lemon meringue pie or a quiche.
If I had six eggs I would be looking at getting more.Dd is currently making brownies so that's 5 gone.I ha 2 poached on toast for breakfast.
I find the super market never has eggs ATM but my local garage is selling lots of free range you just have to take a box.

PlanDeRaccordement · 30/04/2020 16:24

Quiche

BarbaraofSeville · 30/04/2020 16:25

We also panic at fewer than 6, and currently only have 3 . At least a dozen more will be bought today or tomorrow.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 30/04/2020 16:27

I had to click into the thread to see if it was a mis-type and OP actually meant 60 eggs. Confused

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 30/04/2020 16:30

Pancakes
Toad in the hole
Home made custard ( yum)

Tableclothing · 30/04/2020 16:32

Well, my brownie recipe needs 6 eggs and 400g of dark chocolate .....

Wot, no recipe? You choc tease.

CliveyBaby · 30/04/2020 16:35

Well since eggs will last at least two weeks, you only really need to use 2/3 a week, which isn't many at all. I often eat 2 a day, but I love eggs (and have chickens who have just decided that it's summer lol!)

Waxonwaxoff0 · 30/04/2020 16:38

Cheesecake requires a lot of eggs.

Foggymist · 30/04/2020 16:40

Eggs will last weeks and weeks, surely you can bake something else a week or fortnight or more from now if you don't use them all now?

Duckingell · 30/04/2020 16:41

Cake using some of your eggs and self raising flour.

Yorkshire puddings using some of your eggs and plain flour.

Still a little taken aback that no one eats eggs in your house. We get through a minimum of a dozen per week. Hmm

PickAChew · 30/04/2020 16:45

I've just bake a cake this week and another next week. They keep forever.

We panic on less than a dozen in the fridge. Autistic Ds2 has them for breakfast, every day.

EatsShootsAndRuns · 30/04/2020 17:19

It's not like he brought home pickled badgers livers..

Yes, I've got 15 jars of these and we keep buying more! How can I best use them? Grin

DoTheNextRightThing · 02/05/2020 17:06

Thanks for suggestions everyone!

Also @ everyone who suggested eating them - please read OP where I said DP and I don't like eggs :)) I know it's uncommon, but we really do despise eggs in all their forms. I only ever have eggs in the house if I'm planning to bake something but I hate not using them all up. But it's hard when I don’t want to eat them! I was just looking for constructive ways to use them up through baking.
