Long life milk

I bought a couple of bottles of long life milk and just needed to open one. It wasn’t sealed (as in didn’t have a foil cover) and I’m not sure if I snapped the plastic on the cap. It smells fine but smells a bit strange in my tea! It’s from Sainsbury’s. Does anyone know if Sainsbury’s long life milk has a foil seal inside or is it just the cap? Sorry for the really boring topic!

Sainsbury's own milk comes in a carton, Candia comes in a bottle.

Is it "Just Milk" from Candia? If so there is a plastic cap and a sealed foil thing you rip off.

I use it to make yoghurt so always have it in.

No i opened mine yesterday, no foil

If it is the Sainsbury's tetra carton then as Gin says it is just a screw off lid that snaps the seal, nothing underneath to remove.

If it's whole or semi skimmed it will taste/smell a bit different to fresh milk - the UHT treatment alters the flavour of the fats. I can't tell any difference with skimmed milk.
