Help needed please - either I am fat or I’ve got a problem

I recently went on a diet to lose weight after Christmas. It went well and I lost weight.
However.
I am feeling like I’m getting obsessed with my weight. I feel fat every day. I restrict calories and then end up eating loads then restrict again.
Some days I feel ok, then I’ll see a photo taken that day or catch sight of myself in a mirror and just be disgusted at how hideously fat I look.

I know I need to lose more weight to be as thin as I’d like but I can’t get a grip on how real that is?
Today I weigh almost the lowest I ever have as an adult but I still feel fat.

I’m rambling, sorry :( lockdown really hasn’t helped either.

How can I get perspective on this!?

Hi OP, restriction always leads to binging unfortunately which is why diets don't work long term. Under eating will also lead to lean muscle mass being eroded and slow your metabolism down so you will have to eat less and less to lose and maintain.

Have you thought about introducing exercise as a distraction from food? Exercise will also make you feel really good and strong and hopefully help you see yourself in a better light.

You need to stop obsessing with thinness now and look at nutrition an shout bodies needs. If you can slow down the thought process and learn to eat intuitively eating when you are hungry and focusing on nutritious meals, you can use your knowledge to enjoy a healthy weight for the rest of your life with no ‘dieting’. Bee Wilson has written some brilliant books and articles which have helped me a lot:
