Please help - possible prolapse?

Hello,

I’m so embarrassed to be posting this, but I really am worrying and mumsnet has given me such helpful advice in the past.
I went to the loo earlier, and ever since I haven’t felt ‘right’. As soon as I stood up it almost felt like there was something ‘in’ my vagina, almost like a golf ball/weighty type of feeling. I can’t see anything as such, but I can feel a fleshy type of lump on the front front wall which I wasn’t aware of before.
When I sit down I feel almost normal, but standing up the ‘weighty/something being there’ feeling gets worse. I’m 32, relatively fit/healthy and haven’t had any children. Could this be a prolapse? And if not, what could it be? I’ll be trying to book a GP appointment tomorrow, but any advice in the meantime would be much appreciated.

Hi op I can only imagine how worried you are!
The only time I experienced what you're describing is when I was heavily pregnant and had bad constipation which lead me to have a varicose vein in my vaginal wall.

Are you suffering from constipation or any bowel troubles, even straining too hard can cause it.

Would like to add after some stool softener I was back to "normal" in no time so hopefully it's something similar and the same will happen with you x

Hi @ElectricTonight, thanks so much for your reply. Bowel movements have been normal so I don’t think that could be it. I’m glad you found a solution to yours quickly though x

contact your gp in the morning.

LadyGrey66 · 29/04/2020 22:41

@justasking111 I will do - hoping they will still do appointments over the phone at the moment.

if you go onto your gp website they may have set up an online consultation questionnaire, mine has. It is a bit long winded but the gp called me at 8.45 the next morning.

How are you today OP? Have you managed to speak to someone yet x

justasking111 · 30/04/2020 14:18

Yes, did you get hold of GP

LadyGrey66 · 30/04/2020 14:18

@ElectricTonight Thanks for asking, really kind of you. I spoke to my GP this morning who said it sounds like a possible prolapse but will need to do an examination to be sure. She offered to see me this afternoon, but Sod’s law then I got my period! So will now go on Monday instead. Weirdly I feel a bit more comfortable today now I’m using a tampon, not sure if that’s normal?!

I am happy you managed to get ahold of someone. Could it possibly have been your cervix ? I know mine sits very very low when I'm due on and on my period! The tampon could have just moved it up a little. Good luck for Monday I'm sure it will be good news x
