Anyone had a PIP telephone assessment?

As above. I have mine in a few days and I'm really curious about how they're performing a proper assessment?

Last time I had to go to tribunal for the award because so much was wrong with the report.

Anyone got any advice or experience? Obviously I know they can't do their 'informal observations' which seem to bear a lot of weight in the F2F nor can they do an MSK?

Anyone had a successful assessment? Though it might be too early as it's not been happening that long?

I know of 3 people over the last 4 weeks.

Al said it was a lot easier than anticipated. Obviously no physical ‘exam’ and a lot more weight put on the medical evidence sent in.

All 3 I know have had previously Face to Face ones and they all also said this call was a lot less pressure.

If there’s a Facebook group for your condition, you could join and look or ask the question.

Hope this helps.

You need to remember you would have put a lot of information on the form and sent in medical evidence. I have sat in on about five PIP assessments in the past year and on only one was the person asked to do anything physical the rest was just questioning them about their daily life, what they did , where they went, what medications they were taking etc.

Thank you both.

Unfortunately due to the nature of my condition medical evidence is very limited as it's chronic so I don't see a specialist or anything as I'm on the maximum amount of "treatment".

Logic says that since my tribunal my condition has only worsened (increased medication) so it should be simple. But unfortunately, experience says that won't matter.

Mine wasn't much different to my first one. I wasn't allowed to record it sadly, and this time I was asked if I worked which I wasn't asked last time.

Still waiting for a decision the review was the first week of lockdown so four weeks ago, last time the report was full of inaccuracies but I got mobility points to enable me to get a blue badge so didn't appeal. My blue badge has been renewed this time by my forms so will decide if I want or need to appeal this time without being worried about the blue badge.

I found when re-assessed like you, after a previous appeal they used the former assessment as 'evidence' so be prepared for that.

Have you got the appeal points as you can argue them, as this will be the areas of possible 'debate' - this is what I found anyway

Good luck. Just appeal again, on paper if it is denied, they happen quickly and in current times they won't expect you to attend. It is online now.

Key phrase: no change in circumstances since last appeal. still same conditions etc. check if qualify for more areas at pipinfo, as they change with time.

i had mine and it was a disaster, they lied lied lied. its like going back in time to the earlier Atos interviews where they get paid per interview and a bonus from the govt to get you off benefit. ive had 7 face to face interviews with no problems, my only one over the phone and trouble. im doing a MR now and waiting. My heart problems are making me so i`ll . The girl interviewing me on the phone sounded about 17 i feel so ill and angry that im being put through this

We had one for DS recently (DLA to PIP at 16 with me as appointee). It was ok, as well as the questions on the form she asked him to do some simple money based calculations and a few things about himself. I made a script beforehand with everything I wanted to say for each question, did it on speaker so I could look at papers and tick things off as I said them. Only thing was she jumped about and didn't stick to the same order of questions which was a bit confusing. I requested the report a couple of weeks afterwards and it is fair and the scoring agrees with my estimates, but we haven't had the actual decision yet.
