I've phoned my son and asked him what he wants for tea . Hes asked me to nske the best burger ever!
He'll leave it up to me what I put on.
For Ds I have fried bacon and an angus steak burger,. I have spent 2 hours slowly carmalising onions and sweet corn.
The finished burger will be
Burger, bacon. Cheese, caramelized onion, and sweetcorn, guacamole, mayo and a touch of bbq.
This is light hearted by the way.
What's your perfect burger and toppings?
(Yes. I am bored!!)

Schwartz bros burger.

White bun (cut edges toasted)

High quality burger, blue cheese, rocket and salted kettle chips for crunch

A dollop of ketchup and a dollop of brown sauce added to the mince, mix it all up with an extra pinch of salt and pepper if you like.
Mayo on the bun is essential. Brioche buns are nice but I prefer a good ol' fashioned sesame bun, mildly toasted on the inside.

I am a veggie as well.
I love a decent veggie burger but it's the trimmings that I like.
On mine I have red onion, guacamole and sour cream*

@notacooldad what veggie burgers do you use. Our favourites are the Iceland ones. The M&S ones are good too. Both seem tne meatiest. Depsite being veggie i like to eat meat alternatives as i was a big carnivore before!

Mmmm I’m hungry now.... I may have just ordered Hungry Jacks (aka burger king in the UK)

What is ‘burger sauce’ please??

catinb0oots · 30/04/2020 09:10

Burger sauce is kind of like Bog Mac sauce. It's like tomato ketchup and salad cream mixed together

I like the Linda McCartney ones with red onion and mozzarella.
I agree the Iceland ones are good.
I often make my own burgers though and they usually turn out great ( even if I say so myself!!)

Thanks @catinb0oots

Sadly salad cream is hard to find here, as is a decent pork pie (which should be eaten with salad cream, ooo and scotch eggs....)

This thread is still making me hungry 😂

Plump82 · 01/05/2020 08:29

@notacooldad - ive never seen those Linda McCartney ones before! Will need to hunt them down.
How do you your veggie ones? Are they bean based? Im not a huge fan of bean burgers.

DHs best burger.

Dexter beef mince
Some marrowfat
Good buns, your choice
Raw onion rings
Tomato
Dill pickle
Burger relish
Cheese, gruyere

You could dirty it up with well cooked streaky bacon, chilli cheese etc, but I don't really like it.

Mix marrow fat into beef, make patties, put a thumb depression in the centre to even out the cooking. Make sure it is room temperature.

Griddle the burger a couple of minutes a side, griddle the bun.

Load everything onto the burger and cover it to steam it a little and melt the cheese

Load into the bun

Serve with skinny fries, and small piles of burger relish, tomato sauce and mayo.

Sorry. I lept to answer without reading thehe whole thread.

But you have given us an idea for tea tonight Smile

MaccaPacca81 · 01/05/2020 09:06

Thick burger, cooked pink.

Raw onion, gurkhins, cheap processed cheese, ketchup, Dijon.

JemilyJ · 01/05/2020 09:32

Toasted bun
Burger
Bbq sauce
Bacon
Proper cheese not plastic cheese

That’s it. Although I did once go to a restaurant that substituted chorizo for the bacon. That was yummy.

Chillipeanuts · 01/05/2020 09:34

Pork and beef mince makes a softer burger and adding a bit of bread soaked in milk, moister still.

I exaggerated the ingredients with the linda McCartney burgers!! The red onion is in the sausages not the burgers - the szus8are great as well. Dh gets them from iceland but I have also got them from ASDA.
I lightly fry and have them in a bun with guacamole and halloumi.
I'll find my receipe for home made burgers after
The LMcC burger look like this

Ah yes I've had those ones. Her rosemary and red onion sausages are fab so when you mentioned onion for the burger I thought it might have been something similar. There should be!
Farmfoods had a good Linda Mccartney range.
