Suspicious looking mole

Soubriquet · 29/04/2020 15:44

I have a large mole that keeps getting scabs on it. Some points it looks like a chocolate chip cookie

It doesn’t hurt or itch, but the scabs are frequent and do come off.

I would post a picture but it’s right at crotch level and yeah...let’s spare every one my blushes

Would you see a doctor about it? It’s been happening for years and I’ve never really given it a second thought

I would go see a doctor, it's not going to do any harm and could prevent something serious or just put your mind at ease and find out it's nothing!

True. I’ll have to wait for lockdown to stop though won’t I?

I would call them and see what they say, if they think it's urgent they might give you an in person appointment.

@*Soubriquet this is weirdly apt! I have a mole in a similar place to yours which literally appeared overnight. I rang my Gp yesterday, and he directed me to an econsult form on their surgery’s website. I filled it in, including a picture of the mole. He rang me today to say he’s making an urgent referral for me to see a dermatologist. And the dermatologist’s secretary rang me later today with an appointment for 10 days time.

So my advice to you would be to ring your surgery and take their advice. Good luck :)

You should be able to do a phone consultation with your gp. It's not something to ignore.

I imagined this from the thread title

Phone them. The message is 'The doors may be closed but the service isn't.'
They'll probably phone consult and either ask for pics or face to face.
Don't leave it. GPs are still there for you.

I recently contacted my Go surgery regarding a suspicious mole- I had to go in for an appointment where the nurse looked at it, then did an urgent referral to dermatology. I then got a text telling me to download an app called skin doctor where I had to uoload a picture of it. They then diagnosed within 3 days. Pretty quick and simple, GP surgery had everyone waiting outside and just called in for appointment.

Please don't leave that any longer, my friend ignored hers and it sounded v similar. It was cancerous, all taken care of but if she's she'd gone sooner she would have a much smaller crater in her arm.

I was half expecting to pop on and read about dodgy rodents in your garden Grin
