Key worker - school or parents.

3 days a week DH and I both work as key workers. I teach so could in theory take my 5 and 3 year old to our hub. However keeping them entertained at 2m apart desks while seeing to the older kids is going to be a nightmare. I'm also selfishly worried about them being near other kids for so much time.
My parents are my regular childcare for this 3 days a week. Both fit and well in their 50s.
They have offered to continue to look after them. Is this an option? Is it allowed? I can't see it as much different to split parenting and it's seems much better than bringing them to work.
Only becoming an issue now because we had a covid bereavement so have been in quarantine. (both households)
Please no bashing. I'm just asking for viewpoints.
Thanks

I think if your parents are not considered vulnerable I'd choose that option.

Sorry, if they normally provide childcare it is allowed I think.

I would send them to parents if they arent in any at risk group, but I would make sure both households are otherwise fully following government guidance, social distancing when out and hygiene practices to minimise risk. They will be consistently mixing with the same two people not going anywhere else rather than 20 kids going who knows where?

Thanks so much. That was my gut feeling but I just needed reassurance. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
