Have a nearly 6yo and a nearly 9yo. Felt like we are stepping back into normality, for a while anyway before the teen years hit.

Absoloutle pregnancy symptoms for the last few days. Will test in the morning.

Prior to now, I've been insistent that our family is complete. Had enquired about tubal litigation. Always been hot on contraception but understand that something may have slipped through.

The thought of starting again used to terrify me. Now if say I'm 80/20 terrified to excitement.

We don't have stuff. We have space. We have childcare. We could probably afford it but the thought of affording three teenagers makes me green.

Wtf am I going to do if it's positive?

It sounds like you could in theory do it, it's just that you're in shock.

When is AF due? Could you test today? Might as well know what you're dealing with...

I think on paper it's doable. But I love the life we have now. I feel like I would be playing roulette with the kids I have.

What if it's twins? What it's not a healthy pregnancy or not a healthy baby?

Haha I am starting to descend into mild panic.

Af due maybe a few days time? I don't have a test so dh will get two today. I'd rather hang on til first morning pee, then a second one for after af is due.

Maybe wait until AF is due before you test

Yeah that's probably the best course of action

Ask DH to get a FRER (first response early response) and do the test first thing in the morning. They are very sensitive so you'll get a positive even though it's a couple of days early.

See how you feel when you have your result. If it's positive and you're still more terrified and excited even after the news has sunk in, you have options. If it's negative and you're relieved, time to consider more permanent contraception maybe.

more terrified than excited
