Shoes for one year old

Hello! My DS has just started walking and I don’t have any shoes for her. She’s only worn very soft things until now. I’ve always been told you should get children’s feet measured but obviously can’t at the moment. Can you buy children’s shoes online? Where is best? Is it ok to not get them measured for now? Thanks!

I would just wait as there is no way to tell what size you need. Wearing her soft shoes for now won’t do any harm.

Thanks! All these small lockdown problems!

Start rite have a home measure guide in there website, to measure size, width etc, if you can wait until shops reopen it would be helpful to get them measured as sturdy, well fitting footwear is needed in young kids.

If you do want to get her something a little more robust for going outside, have a look at Bobux. You can order them online and I think they can offer measuring help. They are also more adaptable to babies’ feet so you won’t need to worry about width like you would with Clarks.

I’ve found Bobux really good for my newly walking toddler and the instructions on the website for sizing were fairly easy (had to use the pen and paper rather than the fancy smartphone version as LO would stand still for long enough for that!)

Email your local independent kids shoe store - our local one is doing home delivery including dropping off a measurement thing the day before.

Thank you, everyone. We don’t really have a local independent shoe shop. In the middle of nowhere! But will try the online options.
