I made a lentil dhal with coconut milk etc on Saturday night and was hoping to have it for lunch tomorrow. It has been stored correctly. Will it be safe to eat or will I die?

No I wouldn't, 3 days tops for me.

fitflopqueen · 28/04/2020 18:33

Just heat it up fully, will probably taste better now its had time to mature, trust your instincts tomorrow.

andpeggy1 · 28/04/2020 18:51

Just microwave it till it's so hot you have to wait 20 mins before eating it. Remember what doesn't kill you makes your immune system stronger!

Sadly there is no room in the freezer. I will play it by ear tomorrow I think and heat it until it is lava if I decide to eat it

Long time lentil eater here. I always find lentils start to ferment quickly, so it's a definite no from me, but then I always eat left overs the day after only!

KnobwithaK · 28/04/2020 21:10

I would. I'd probably heat it up enough that it just boils, and bin it if it tastes bad obvs.

JigsawsAreCool · 28/04/2020 21:10

Come back and let us know if you survive please

DramaAlpaca · 28/04/2020 21:12

It will most definitely be fine, OP, and it won't make you ill. DH makes a fabulous lentil and coconut milk dhal and five days fridge storage is absolutely OK.

SallyWD · 28/04/2020 21:18

I leave things for a maximum of 4 days abd have never had food poisening yet!

Agreed, they tend to go a bit slimy. That may be hidden by a sauce though.

Nearly lunch time 🤔😁

Well I ate it yesterday and I can report am still alive today Smile. It was even nicer than when I made it. I don't think I will make a habit of leaving things that long normally but it was fine as a one off
