I'm sure I'm not the only one - my dd had her third child and my second grandson on Friday and it's so sad we cant see him yet. It made me realise how hard it must be living a long way away from close family.

He is so lovely and I just want to pick him up and squeeze him!!

Me too. My first grandchild arrived last week. A little boy called Finley. Lots of facetime but I can't wait for a proper cuddle.

Oh congrats!! I feel as though it's not quite so hard for me as he is my third but I so miss them all!!

It's so hard not being able to be there to support my son and his wife. My DIL is Chinese so she's got no chance of her parents being able to come over any time soon Sad The original plan was for her Mum to come over for 3 months. My day job is as a nanny, which I've been doing for over 30 years now(!) so I can at least give advice over facetime - though I am being careful to only give advice that they ask for Grin

I'll be in a similar situation at the end of this month, unable to help, as planned, with our six year old grandson when the new baby is born. So upsetting for us all. What a time.

Photos and video calls are not quite the same are they? Its all so bizarre.

Congratulations OP, there's nothing like it is there?

Hopefully you'll get the first cuddle while he's still a tiny squidgelet. We're missing our DGS enormously, and vice versa.
