Can you plug an ethernet cable into anything except a router?

Like a wifi extender or some other gadget to get wired internet that's not limited to the room the router is in?

My bedroom smart tv is connected to the lounge router via a very long ethernet cable

I brought TP link plugs, one goes in a socket by your router and plugs in, the other can go in one of the plugs in another room. They cost around £25 and come with all the cables you need, they’ve been great for running my PC while wfh and provided stable internet.

Sounds perfect Bedlam, thanks.

Have you trailed the cable through the house Happy or through the ceiling? I rent so can't cut any holes or box any wires in.
