Having all our DCs at home means sex has to be completely silent..

Disclaimer - I know there are more important things to worry about etc etc.

Our 2 uni aged DCs are home due to the lockdown and our 16 year old is obviously here all the time which is lovely

But FFS it would be really nice to not have to be Utterly Silent whenever me and DH get the chance to have sex

I mean it’s a bloody rare thing because some one is always awake, or in the room right next door or looking for something or FaceTiming someone or shouting at someone else :)

I tried to get the 3 of them to walk the dog together just for a few minutes of the house to ourselves but no. One had to finish something for uni so couldn’t go

Anyone else finding this part of lockdown a fucking nightmare?

Omg yeah,
During last summer when she was here she caught me coming out of the bedroom and told me she knew what we had been doing, now I'm too scared to even roll.over in bed incase she hears 😂😂

Pogmella · 27/04/2020 20:28

Buy them all fancy headphones

KaronAVyrus · 27/04/2020 20:32

We’ve started having early morning shags.

BigFatLiar · 27/04/2020 20:32

I think that children don't believe that their parents do that sort of thing, gross they're so old. How do they think they came into existence, no storks or cabbage patches involved.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 27/04/2020 20:34

They all have fancy headphones, I just feel like I can’t relax because they are right there all the time!

Tbf BigFatLiar I know for a fact that my mum and dad only shagged 4 times because they’ve got 4 kids. It’s a scientific fact 😂

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/04/2020 20:38

Yes! I have found the ability to be totally silent-apart from hissing “shsssshhhh” at DH 😂

GiantPinesAhem · 27/04/2020 20:40

My eldest and therefore most awake child is in the nearest bedroom... we just lock the door and get in with it, she's always wearing headphones!

fairyfingers · 27/04/2020 21:39

Another here although the beard dh has cultivated means this could be a blessing. Dd1 is struggling to sleep so I'm often asleep before her.

They are up early so we did manage to take advantage of a Saturday am when they went downstairs to watch Harry Potter. But it's not the same as I can't relax - in, out and no messing is my motto atm.

Tr1skel1on · 27/04/2020 21:44

Oh yes! This afternoon the kids went on a 10 min bike ride. It's amazing what you can do in that time 😁 first time for 6 weeks.

Early riser DD, night owl DD and paper thin walls. I'm so glad lockdown has eased slightly here

sourcreamnchives · 27/04/2020 21:47

I could have written this myself. We have not had sex since lockdown began for all of these same reasons 🙈😬

homemadecommunistrussia · 27/04/2020 21:49

There's been none of that. Sad
I have been wondering how to entice them both out of the house at the same time, but not had a bright idea yet.

LaMarschallin · 27/04/2020 21:49

This is so disgusting.

My daughters are quite aware that their father and I would never do such a thing.

I got pregnant by a complicated form of internal combustion.
As, indeed, will they.

vdbfamily · 27/04/2020 21:50

I find early mornings are better than evenings where teenagers are concerned as they also until lunchtime in our houses!

vdbfamily · 27/04/2020 21:51

Just the one house actually!

FrenchyQ · 27/04/2020 21:51

Oh god yes...I'm so self concious that they can hear us and Ds13 likes to walk in our room without knocking.
DH suggested we go out in the car but knowing our luck the police would catch us in the act!

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 27/04/2020 21:51

At those ages I would be tempted to say “right, your father and I are going to the bedroom. you are welcome to stay at home or you can take the dog for a walk. The choice is yours.”

Same problem here until we suggested kids go on a bike ride together round the block...game changerWink

teqcar · 27/04/2020 21:54

This is not a new problem for DH and I. We always seem to have a D.C. in the house. In the plus side, we won't be increasing the numbers Grin

I hear you. Although I’ve realised with that my teens are dead asleep until gone 9, so morning sex works. Still have to be silent though. Gin

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/04/2020 22:03

My friends mother used to send her out the house as a teenager by informing her she was off upstairs to have sex with her father. My friend didn’t care less but I remember feeling scandalised about it lol as my parents really never did have sex.

I’m raising my kids to be totally open about sex so to be honest I think in the same situation I’d say what a PP said. Just tell them you need to shag their father and hoof them out for exercise for half an hour.

Mummypig2020 · 27/04/2020 22:05

We haven’t had it in 6 weeks 😩😩 toddler wakes up early and pre teens are always round in the evening 😑

rosegoldwatcher · 27/04/2020 22:26

Lock on the door, turn up the volume on the tv (or radio if no tv in the bedroom.) Jobs a good'un.

Glassmami · 27/04/2020 22:42

My 13 year old walked in on us the last time we tried and told us off for being disgusting 😂
