20 weeks old...so much crying

hiya any advice, my son is 20 weeks old and for the past month or so he’s had really bad crying spells

he cries for a bottle but then won’t take it properly and writhes around something awful. i don’t know if he has colic/reflux or if it’s teething but i feel really bad for him. it seems to get worse the more milk he has, he’s always been really gassy and farty as well, im getting nowhere with health visitor either all she says is “he will grow out of it”
any one had the same or?

Sounds like it could be silent reflux, or potentially a cows milk allergy.
Are his nappies normal? Have you spoken to a doctor?

His nappies are great, good poos and wees, doctor constantly says the same “it’s a tummy bug” or “he’ll grow out of it” or “he’s teething”

I thought reflux too he’s on cow and gate anti reflux milk and the first two weeks of being on it were great, then he went back to how he is

Leap 4? It’s a long and tedious one but it does end!

Is he gaining weight as expected (tracking his centile)?

You've had advice from two professionals who know your child - your HV and your GP. Why don't you believe what they've said? Why do you think Mumsnet knows better?

Yeah he’s a big baby. I only asked to see if anyone else’s baby was the same.

My little boy is 22 weeks today. Just got out of Leap 4 this week and he is like a different baby again. There is light at the end of the tunnel! Taking feeds well, smiling again, hooray!!

ah that is reassuring! hopefully he pops back to his old smiley self very soon, leap bloody 4, how many more are there again 😫
