Moving to Basildon, Lee Chapel South or North??

Hi,

Newbie here.
DH and I have a toddler and desperately want to buy a house. Our budget is around £280k. Have been looking in Basildon at 2 bedroom houses and Lee chapel south seems more expensive than north.
Why is that? In south houses are quite basic but in the north for the same price or less saw more modern, bigger and better properties.

Is anybody from that area able to tell me which side is nicer/safer and if it’s really worth it paying more in the south when 2 streets up are better options. Such a dilemma🙈 Thanks

Bumping this for you, OP.

I lived there briefly 20 years ago.

My suggestion is to absolutely buy somewhere with your own parking. That would be non negotiable. None of this communal parking gubbins where you get blocked in or no spaces. Parking was a problem even then.

And as close to the station as possible. The bus service wasn't great but better if you can walk to the station. The c2c into London is OK.
