Using USwitch to change energy suppliers

Current tariff with Eon expires today and the suggested one to switch to wants us to install a smart meter. Only going to be here for another 4 months (possibly less) so looked at USwotch and they found a better deal with no exit fees which works better then sticking with Eon

How does it work? Do they do everything and we just have to set up a new Direct debit with the new company? We’re in credit with Eon so will they send us the cheque or do we need to chase it up?

I switch my energy supplier whenever my deal ends, it's always been painless. If you're in credit you'll get it back when they do the final bill and close your account.

I use uswitch every year, always go through top cashback too and get £30 through them. It has only ever been a simple process to swap over using them.

So if I do it, my flat mate currently pays the energy bill but no longer lives here permanently so want to change it to me so do we just set up the Direct Debit through the new company or do they transfer pay details aswell?

This almost seems to easy!

I switched to bulb - they give you cash back with a referral code (happy to share mine) but it's also not a contract so assume you could leave anytime. It was really simple. I just contacted bulb and they dealt with everything for me.
