Disappointed with Mindful Chef

I used to get Hellofresh once a month back in the day. Cancelled as we were out all the time and it was actually a hassle to find the time to cook things.

Obviously this has all changed in recent months.

I first heard about Mindful Chef from a certain blogger on YouTube. Looked into it, liked the ethos and feed the hungry children element. Decided to try it.

Have been a bit disappointed. The recipes are okay, but the produce isn't great. I don't know whether this is caused by Covid supply issues, or if it's always been like this? E.g. vegetables look pretty wrinkly and beaten up. Fish with a use before date of 1-3 days after delivery when the meals are supposed to be for the entire week.

They also sneakily repeated my order for next week without sending reminders to choose. I remember Hellofresh would bombard me with reminders so I'm not liking how MC was so presumptuous.

Does anyone else get this box? Have I just been unlucky?

Oh and when I emailed about the fish going rank within a couple of days of delivery I was promptly told to check bbf dates!

I had a look at MC recently but the meals didn't seem as good as HF.

Yeah, I think I'll have a look at returning to HF then.

Not just Covid, MC are crap generally!

I tried them just before Xmas. I’d been tempted for ages and I was embarrassingly excited to get the box.
I was so disappointed! The food was dull. The produce fair. And it’s so expensive...
I’m with HelloFresh now. The recipes are so much better. Sometimes I don’t do all the carbs and/or add a few extra vegetables to make them healthier. But even then 5 meals with HF still ends up costing less than 3 with Mindful Chef.
