Just found one full and one empty miniature bottle of red wine in our front garden.

They look like they’ve been stashed by someone. Nobody in our household drinks red wine. It’s really very perplexing! We also found what looked very much like 2 full 2litre bottles of piss that had been out in our rubbish bin one morning after they’d been emptied and before I put our bin back in our alleyway.

It’s almost like we have an invisible tramp living in our front garden!! 😳😳😳

The latter was about 6 months ago, I should add.

Install security cameras and enjoy the show!?

Do you have a comfy shed ?

sashh · 25/04/2020 14:14

Maybe the local hedgehogs are running a bar?

Foxd0g · 25/04/2020 14:16

Do you have teenage DC at all?

Rollergirl11 · 25/04/2020 15:21

@Foxd0g yes I do have a teenage DD. And I did initially think of her. But it’s not something I think she’d do and I’m sure there are a thousand better places to hide them then out the front of our house! And I very much doubt red wine miniatures would be her tipple of choice!

The thing that makes it all the more bizarre is that I actually bought a similar small bottle of red wine last week to cook with, the first time in a long time. When I first found it I was initially confused and thought it was the same bottle and must have fallen out the bag from car to house. But it’s not the same and anyway I used the one I bought as planned and it’s currently in our recycling bin. 🥴

I’m wasting far too much headspace trying to come up with a viable explanation!

Could your teen dd have sneaked our to meet someone after you had gone to bed and he brought the booze?

GreyGardens88 · 25/04/2020 16:13

Oh dear are you isolated 2 miles from the nearest road and worried if someone has been lurking in your garden? Better call the police

Longdistance · 25/04/2020 16:24

Get some cctv. Best thing ever.
So far on lockdown I’ve had a burglar hiding his loot in our (private) road, fly tipping by the people who my neighbours saw on their cctv the same people chucking rocks over their fence into our road and a guy who decided to park in our road to take a piss up against a wall by our communal bin store. It’s a great when you catch them and tell them you have them on cctv, apart from the burglar. I gave the footage to the police, they were doing cartwheels when I gave them the footage —I need to get a life—
We originally got it as deliveries were ‘missing’/not being delivered and cars were being broken into. I was just in the process of buying my flash car so it made sense to install it.
I reckon the stash is either teens or someone who is an alcoholic and can’t hide it in their house/flat.

Rollergirl11 · 25/04/2020 16:40

We are on a main road but we have a wall that’s to waist height and then iron railings coming out the wall above that up to about 6ft and then an iron gate. They could have been chucked over the wall but then they would have smashed so it seems like someone has come in the gate to place them where I found them.

"I will buy a miniature bottle of wine" said no alcoholic ever Grin

Rollergirl11 · 25/04/2020 16:59

@MerryInthechelseahotel yep, my thoughts exactly! And if it were teens I’d expect it to be a bottle of WKD or cider or vodka, not red wine!

.....unless the shop was shut or they were too young to get served, in which case he stole what he could from his mothers fridge and brought it up to have a sneaky drink with your dd (or a neighbours dd) after bedtime?Grin
