What are you all eating? We’ve got enough food and a variety, but I’m sick of eating the same thing over and over. Please inspire me!

My mouth is now watering after a very lacklustre curry.

With a roast I usually do all or a mix of the following - cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, crackling if pork, squash and carrot mash, honey roasted parsnips, broccoli and gravy. I fancy changing it up a bit tomorrow though, so what are your favourite sides for a pork roast??

Glazed carrots, red cabbage, crispy kale...

TooMinty · 25/04/2020 19:03

But tbh I love cauliflower cheese best!

AlohaMolly · 26/04/2020 11:59

Oh red cabbage would have been so good!

I had frozen salmon fillets which yesterday i battered and cooked with herbed mayonnaise. It was very good.

Tonight schnitzels with boiled pottaos and parsley butter and carrots.

I am having meat delivered once a week by our local tiny butcher. It has changed my world, and when all this is over I am eschewing supermarket meat and will eat less of it but have it from the butchers.

Now,... if only the fishmonger delivered.... (although tbf some randomer is selling fresh fish on our local facebook selling pages.... [boak] )

Roast pork:

Definitely braised red cabbage. With orange, and cranberry sauce, and lots of spices.

Savoy cabbage with bacon lardons, walnuts (or chestnuts if you have any) and cranberries.

Brussels sprouts, roasted, dressed with lots of butter and gently sautéed garlic.

Roasted carrots and parsnips glazed with honey, maple syrup, wholegrain mustard and lemon juice.

French beans dressed in e.v. Olive oil with lemon and smoked paprika.

Definitely good old sage and onion stuffing.

I cook my carrots and then glaze with butter, honey and seasame seeds. I love it like that.

Oh cabbage. mmmmm......... [puts on shopping list]
