What's everyone up to today?

& how are you all doing?

I know it's not the usual rounds of ferrying dc about/days out/shopping trips etc. but haven't started one of these for a while so thought I would today.

I'm currently drinking coffee, and listening to the radio, with dd1. We'll get dressed in a bit & she wanted to start her new book (Carrie) so she'll probably do that.

I'm going to put some washing on and clean the puffy (footstool thingumy), then maybe something crafty or continue decorating my living room.

Dd2's still sleeping. I'm not sure what she wants to do yet but suspect there may be baking going on at some point today.

What about you lot? :)

@hermionegrange I only play the Lego games (currently revisiting Raiders of the lost Ark 😊

maddiemookins16mum · 25/04/2020 11:40

I love these threads too, like to read about normal, everyday stuff during this unusual (for want of a better word) time 😊

LimitIsUp · 25/04/2020 11:45

Oh I don't know, there are just so many options 😉

Nquartz · 25/04/2020 11:45

We've just been for a 3 mile walk to collect sticks etc to make a bug hotel for a beavers badge.

We don't allow screens weekdays during the day so we always have more at weekends do DD & DH are watching Tom & Jerry.

After lunch DH will mow the lawn while DD rides her bike up & down the street a bit followed by the first Harry Potter film. DD hasn't seen it yet & we're looking forward to watching it again.

spinthebottle · 25/04/2020 11:47

We’ve just got back from a walk. DP went back to work today so it’s just me and the DC, Going to tidy up and do some lunch shortly, and then might have an afternoon nap with the baby! I have some Prosecco in the fridge for later. It’s a lovely sunny day here.

LimitIsUp · 25/04/2020 11:48

Ok - getting into the spirit of it, I
am currently watching yesterday's 'Have I Got News For You'. Shortly will head into the garden and read. Then might do so half arsed housework. Late afternoon we will take the dogs for a second walk and we have a take away booked for collection from the pub at 7pm

FizzyPink · 25/04/2020 11:51

I’m absolutely loving these new chilled weekends! DP usually leaves for work at 7am on Saturdays and Sundays so we never really get a lie in and I can never go back to sleep after he’s left.
Today we’ve had a lovely lie in and then snuggled in bed watching After Life. Then I’ve made bacon and eggs while he took a work call. In a bit we’ll go for a long walk and then chill in the garden until the evening when we’ll do a virtual escape room with my family.

FizzyPink · 25/04/2020 11:55

Oh and I also need to buy some new sandals. I threw them all away at the end of last summer thinking I’d just buy a couple of cheap Primark pairs as they always seem to be the comfiest which obviously is out the window now. I ordered some from ASOS last week and they cut my feet to pieces after one 20 minute walk so I need to source some more.

PhoneLock · 25/04/2020 12:01

I’m absolutely loving these new chilled weekends!

I wish I was the same. I've just had to listen to DH getting all stressed about unrealistic work deadlines and having to work all weekend to try and catch up.

Artinsurance · 25/04/2020 12:05

I'm going to continue weeding the wilderness at the bottom of our garden and possibly plant some plants. It feels like it's not been touched much in 50 years since the house was built and digging holes is ridiculously difficult!

This evening we are having an Indian ready meal and will probably finish off another bottle of wine and another few episodes of After Life (watched 2 last night).

Laurie01 · 25/04/2020 12:07

Gonna have lunch soon, followed by a walk, frothy coffee & ice cream, board game, more food, BGT & wine.

happypotamus · 25/04/2020 13:16

I did about 1 hour of school work this morning with DC as we had a day off in the week for DC1's birthday. DC1 did a spider diagram showing what she knows about the topic habitats, DC2 did some phonics. We played a board game. I have done 2 loads of washing. I need to wash up. DC1 needs to design a shop for a brownie activity and DC2 decided she wants to too. DC1 also needs to email her friend. We all need to go out for a walk. I need to work out what to do for dinner because there was no pastry in Sainsbury's yesterday.

myhandsareverycold · 25/04/2020 13:46

Up at 7am for a supermarket delivery, pottered around tidying up, putting laundry away then went for a walk through bluebell woods late morning.
I've just had lunch and taken a couple of work call. I'm on call today so not moving very far from my phone.

MrsJonesAndMe · 25/04/2020 13:54

Have slept in a bit (still up before 7), made some bread, tried to get DS to finish off his school work no chance got DD to do a bit more on hers.
Chatted to a friend on the phone.
Washing, dishwasher done.
Watching a movie now and later having pizza delivered - the decadence after 5 weeks of being stuck in!

BoogleMcGroogle · 25/04/2020 14:16

I love these threads! I was in Sainsbury's by 8.30. It's a bit of a depressing experience at the moment, although they've started piping music and I smiled as a caught numerous folk singing along to The Bangles! DD has had online music school today, which went well and it was lovely to earwig her composition and singing lessons. DS has played minecraft, read about minecraft age made minecraft Lego. DH has been a star and cleaned the kids' rooms. He's had several calls with friends/ siblings ( he lost his dad last week and it's been so nice how people have offered support). My big excitement was a delivery of Fat Face clothes. I normally like a more 'preppy' style but in lockdown I want to dress like I did in 1997. Off for a long walk through the fields later and then we will have a bbq ( I'm in the farm shop queue now). Have a lovely day everyone!

Frownette · 25/04/2020 14:23

Just had a warm foot bath, off to do shopping, then tea and watching a movie or reading.

troppibambini · 25/04/2020 17:03

@lucysmam I ordered a garden connect 4, bubble wands, a bowling set, water shooter guns, bubble wands, badminton set, a catch set with Velcro disks you put on your hand so the balls stick and a rocket launcher game that you jump on.
£37 for all of it which I didn't think was too bad. The kids have been pretty happy all day!

Fishcakey · 25/04/2020 17:41

Horribly hungover so I've sunbathed with a book all day. Very lazy.

Had a good day! Lots of cleaning/housework/washing and the whole house is now done (such a good feeling!) Went to the river with DP for a walk and it's lovely - blue sky, blue river, bright green, lots of sun. And then DP came home and cleaned the drain out!

lucysmam · 25/04/2020 21:04

@BlueJava that sounds like a productive day!

@givemeacall my 10yo still watches Jake every now and again :)

@Fishcakey hopefully you're feeling a bit better now? I haven't had a hangover in a while; don't envy you one bit!

I managed a fairly productive day; cushion covers found for when things calm down, 3 walls almost completed, big frames given a lick of paint to freshen them up. Plus normal stuff like washing & a bit of cleaning.
