How the bloody hell do I host a family pub quiz when we are all staying in our own homes

If it was just household against household I'd just FaceTime or Houseparty. But we've a lot of single households so teams will be split across groups.

Is there any app or site which will allow me to host, everyone to see me, but then each team be able to have their own separate video chat going on elsewhere?

We’ve done a few quizzes streamed live on FB and there’s one every Thursday which is streamed live through You Tube.

Zoom!!!

SeaViewBliss · 24/04/2020 22:14

If you use Zoom you can have break out rooms.

CherryPavlova · 24/04/2020 22:17

Zoom right Teams with breakout groups.

YouTube every time, if your account lets you stream live, the comments/live feed makes a great atmosphere

Or a Kahoot! Quiz where you screen share over zoom

Throughabushbackwards · 24/04/2020 22:20

Kahoots are really good fun!

WhispersOfWickedness · 24/04/2020 22:25

My local pub does one on myquiz.org which works quite well. You can't see each other though, but no reason why you couldn't have zoom on at the same time Smile

GrainneWail · 24/04/2020 22:27

Zoom and kahoot is a good combo.
unfortunately we now have to have a billion hours of extended family time every week

LtJudyHopps · 24/04/2020 22:48

We haven’t done teams like that it’s just been households against each other. But we’ve been using Facebook video call (not a chance in hell of getting my Nan on zoom!)
My Nan pairs up with a cousin and they’re on the phone together on mute while the quiz is going on.

Hi sorry for the late return. Zoom with separate rooms looks good. It seems to have a 40 min cap though.

That’s for free accounts. If you subscribe (I think it’s a tenner a month) it’s unlimited time m

I'm in a group that uses Zoom. We have two 'remote' teams - we just use WhatsApp to communicate, and trust each other that we're not cheating.
