Who the hell is stockpiling Dettol now..!!!

Just been out to the local shops (I combined it with my daily exercise) no flour, no loo-roll, no eggs and now no fricking Dettol..ffs

Why is it so popular all of a sudden.

Dosenfectant wipes pretty impossible to get as well

I work for a disinfectant company. Demand has gone through the roof - but the other problem is that we are struggling to get packaging. Sadly a lot of it comes from China....

I’ve never bought dettol - never needed any.

I haven't been able to get any for 4 weeks, and in our local morrisons they have a 2 product limit on all cleaning products because of stock piling

All cleaning products have been in low supply here since this started. Many people I know are using the time at home to get more cleaning done, doing the jobs that aren’t done often (such as kitchen cupboards) and cleaning more often. I don’t find it unexpected in the current circumstances.
I don’t count myself in that bracket, BTW!!

The big shops near me have eggs and loo roll.

But why is there still no flour? I would have thought shops would have restocked by now? The flour thing is really odd.

And also all disinfectant is still low not just detail. I've had to resort to using minging zoflora. At least it says it kills almost everything. I think people don't spot it in the bottom shelf in Sainsbury's.

There's plenty of flour, it is just in 25Kg sacks or bulk Road tankers.
It isn't possible to install new bagging lines to do 1.5Kg retail bags to meet temporary demand.
The Mills that do retail bags are flat out, but you can only Mill at a set speed.

Yeah the problem with flour isn’t flour supply - it’s the producers ability to pack small “retail” sized bags in such fast high demand. Their systems aren’t set up for it.

The majority of flour goes to big bakeries - it’s easier and faster to pack and move large sacks.

I don’t know but I got some in my online shopping that I didn’t order...
