Wish adverts on Facebook

Does anyone else get adverts from Wish pop up on their FB feed? I've never bought anything from there and can never work out what they are trying to sell. Any guesses at the attached?

Not on Facebook but I see their ads all the time in places and I just can't work it out.
They look like items that have escaped from someone's mad drug induced dream Grin.

SueGeneris · 23/04/2020 00:28

Those are FANTASTIC.

I once got leggings advertised to me that were printed all over with Nicolas Cage’s face.

Next to that was a cat with a blindfold on.

SueGeneris · 23/04/2020 00:32

Maybe it’s not Nicolas Cage. Even so.

SueGeneris · 23/04/2020 00:32

This.

Livedandlearned · 23/04/2020 00:45

Looks like a slice of fruit cake

PyongyangKipperbang · 23/04/2020 04:06

Wish are my ultimate entertainment, the only reason I still have FB!

The trick is to click on the really dodgy looking ones, then you with targetting advertising, you hit pay dirt!

My personal favourite is the tights with a handy pouch for the old chap, and a double ended glass dildo with its main USP being, according to the ad, that it was painted in an art deco style. There are some epic ads!

PyongyangKipperbang · 23/04/2020 04:07

Should add that lockdown is made all the more fun by playing "Who gets the perviest Wish ads on FB" with your friends, you have to screenshot and send it to them!

Gingerkittykat · 23/04/2020 04:07

It looks like a lump of weed, what is it?

My DD orders loads of crap from Wish, I've actually threatened to throw any more parcels in the bin unopened. It's all stuff like tiny hands which reach to your fingers, stickers or stupid shaped pens. It drives me crazy.

The pillow thing is a pigs trotter pillow. I had that advert the other day and had to find out. Minutes after reading this thread I opened Facebook and there was a wish advert. Chicken safety wear anyone?

Can you actually buy any of this crap (chicken safety helmet) or is it just a claick bait marketing ploy?

Livedandlearned · 23/04/2020 06:30

Omg a pigs trotter! I thought it was a lobster claw Blush

Notthefutureyet · 23/04/2020 06:46

So you can actually order the stuff from there and it comes!?

I'd always figured it was dodgy as hell, there's loads of random things I'd order from them!

Good question. I always assumed it was a scam.

MyOtherProfile · 23/04/2020 07:10

Not that I want a chicken helmet or a cat blindfold...

BarbaraofSeville · 23/04/2020 07:10

So do all the things exist? I assume that the quality is shite and it takes forever to come.

I see the adverts obviously, but don't get any further because you have to sign up and I don't want to.

I've seen what looks like a still for making spirits, the cat blindfold and random cheap shite that I can't identify. But yes, it's a good game to guess A, what the items actually are and B. look out for the pervy looking ones.

Bizarrely there's an advert for Wish on the outside of our local professional football stadium, which seems a bit odd as I wouldn't have thought Wish would pay for what is likely to be very expensive mainstream advertising -the signs are visible from the often congested motorway so visible to many, and I'm surprised at the club taking advertising from what appears to be a dodgy knock off Internet retailer.

greyspottedgoose · 23/04/2020 07:20

Yes you can order and yes the stuff comes! Im not a massive wish fan, you can get most of the random things on aliexpress or joom which are basically the same things but usually cheaper once you factor in postage

thequeenbeyondthewall · 23/04/2020 07:23

Vova is another one.

SquirtleSquad · 23/04/2020 07:24

My offerings this morning including the elusive Art Deco double ended glass dildo!

I really hate those cat ones. Why the hell would you put a mask or paw covers on a cat?Sad

WhoWants2Know · 23/04/2020 09:03

Ahh, I posted one of the photos above (the box with a dove in it) but forgot to cut out the identifying information.

I have had a couple things from Wish that turned out to be ok. (Bobble hats, handbags, etc)

And surprisingly, dog pants! (For females in season)

But the clothes are much much smaller than UK sizes.

Crinkle77 · 23/04/2020 09:06

Strangely enough this has popped up on my Facebook feed for the first time today and thought what the hell is this.

mummabubs · 23/04/2020 09:10

Bargainous tongue shield, anyone?

Lovebug06 · 23/04/2020 09:10

I always thought it was a scam, or would take ages to come otherwise. I mean how many people do they get ordering chicken safety helmets or cat blindfolds Confused

Notso · 23/04/2020 09:21

The thing that looks like a mouldy sandwich is a handmade soap.
I clicked on it once wondering if there was a market for the contents of DC's forgotten lunch boxes.
