Trying to find the name of tv movie mini series

I remember watching this years ago about two girls who became friends at boarding school in the 1930s one of the girls friends parents died and she ended up going to stay at her friends manor, she later fall in love with her friends brother but he ended up going to war but came back injuried. I cant remember the name of the series, can anyone help?

It sounds a bit like the Cazalet Chronicles series, but it's so long ago I can't remember it all!
