Help! I think DD has thread worms!

DD (aged 6) came into my room complaining of a very sore bottom and asked me to have a look. I think I caught a glimpse of a threadworm.

This is not something we’ve dealt with before so I’ve no idea what I need to do.

I’m assuming I don’t need to take her to the doctors. We are trying not to leave the house due to DD’s respiratory system not being great.

I’d be very grateful for any help/advice.

Thanks.

You don’t need to see a doctor you can buy treatment from a pharmacy. You’ll need to treat the whole family.

You buy the treatment from the pharmacy.
You need 2 lots and you must treat the whole family.
Look on the nhs website.
Read the packaging insert.
If you are shielding, pharmacies can deliver.

Get some ovex from the pharmacy, treat the whole family with one dose now, do a thorough clean and wash all bedding and towels, then treat again two weeks later. Should sort it out!

Yep go to chemist, buy ovex for the whole family.

In the meantime, bathe her bottom and slather some vasiline on. In the morning, bath bottom again first thing.

You need to wash all bedding and towels, vacuum clean and damp dust everywhere.
Cut everybody's nails, wash hands frequently.
If you are following corona virus hygiene practice you should be at lower risk.
Your dd should wear pants in bed. It helps to prevent scratching and the spread of eggs.

The treatment the chemist will give you is very fast acting and effective.
