Dream with me

If they suddenly announced that lockdown is off from
Tomorrow onwards, what’s would be your plans for the day?

I would go visit my mum and in laws and book a ticket to go see my I’ll father. And then I will go to the beach. And then if I still have energy left in me, I would also go to the library get as many books as possible so I can read them in case of a renewed lockdown. Argh if only.

Dump my toddler with my FIL and then come home and sleep. Then do some sewing.

I've told the in laws to get the cot ready for the minute lockdown ends!

derelictwreck · 23/04/2020 07:37

Go see my boyfriend and shag him senseless. 5 weeks of not seeing him and counting Sad

Mascotte · 23/04/2020 07:57

@derelictwreck it’s horrible, isn’t it?

happypotamus · 23/04/2020 08:00

This thread was started yesterday, so today is the tomorrow it referred to. It is my DD's 9th birthday, so she would choose. I don't know where she would choose, and I am not going to ask her because I don't want her to think about the things we can't do today. Maybe the trampoline park or Drayton Manor plus a trip to at least one set of grandparents.

Assuming it’s safe I would drive from my house to mum & dads first thing for a cuppa and a croissant. Head to see my sister in London and then to Liverpool to see my nana xx

EnglishRain · 23/04/2020 08:06

I would go into town to get a coffee and mooch around the high street. Pop to a garden centre. Then I'd catch up with people over the next couple of weeks ha!

Thatbitchcarolebaskin · 23/04/2020 08:08

Eyebrow bar. Opticians. Chiropractor.

PennyArrowBar · 23/04/2020 09:03

Run down to my parents with my DS and give them a hug, and my sister, although she is not a hugger. Have a BBQ with them. Then go and see my grandma.

why would you all be going to live life as notmal! The virus doesnt wave goodbye once its lifted. Nothing has changed. They just can no longer keep you in lockdown. But absolutely nothing has changed in virus, transmission and danger terms

No, and I accept this as a risk and will probably continue to social distance in shops, wash my hands much more etc. But, life in "lockdown" cannot go on indefinitely. It's not sustainable. And at present (and after struggling hugely with anxiety. DH works on public transport in a city centre) I'm at the point where I'd probably rather take my chances with the virus (although if be surprised if we haven't had it already).

lobsterkiller · 23/04/2020 09:11

Go see the family and then a pedicure, followed by a massage.

ExpletiveDelighted · 23/04/2020 09:14

In the imaginary "this never happened" scenario I'd actually go to work instead of doing it on my own at home. The DCs would be back at school and all their activities, tonight I'd be going to the pub with my friends. At the weekend visiting parents and going to the football. I know it's going to be different and not like this at all. But I'd go back to my normal life like a shot, I miss it.

Unihorn · 23/04/2020 09:19

Take my children to the park and sit with a cup of tea in a coffee shop!

Shopaholic100 · 23/04/2020 10:21

Go and see my mum and give her a hug. Then go to Bournemouth because it has the best beach ever.

Shopaholic100 · 23/04/2020 10:23

Followed by a trip to Nandos, I’m really missing it. This is probably the longest I’ve gone without takeaway/restaurant food in a long time.

Caramel78 · 23/04/2020 10:24

A long walk and lunch at a National trust place and then the cinema and Wagamamas in the evening. The next day I would have a family bbq with my parents and sister etc and I’d love to go somewhere like a zoo for a day out too

Davros · 23/04/2020 11:00

I assumed this was a fantasy "what would you do if there were no dangers" thread, not just the same as now but no lockdown.

alreadytaken · 23/04/2020 11:08

If the virus had not happened I'd probably be in Greece now touring around and thinking about where to have lunch.

If the lockdown rules are relaxed I'll meet up with friends but we'll probably just go for a walk two metres apart instead of the usual pub lunch.

happymummy12345 · 23/04/2020 11:44

It depends on the situation. If restaurant were back open then my husband would be back at work. Similarly if schools and nurseries were open my son would be back at nursery his two mornings a week. And the first thing I'll be doing is rearranging my nail and eyebrow appointment.
But if it's a case that lockdown is lifted but social distancing still applies and nowhere that is currently closed is open again, then nothing different. What could I do? Until places are reopen nothing will change for us

Changeofname79 · 23/04/2020 12:06

See immediate family then coffee with closest friends. In reality I will still be social distancing but if that was unnecessary then will just catch up with everyone and have lots of hugs xx

Changeofname79 · 23/04/2020 12:06

Grin did not mean to put kisses, just so used to messaging friends all day!

LaurieFairyCake · 23/04/2020 12:08

I need a pint (or two)

REALLY REALLY NEED A PINT

BogRollBOGOF · 23/04/2020 13:31

Drop the kids off at school, skip out of the playground singing, go for swim, go somewhere for lunch.
Go to Brownies, give the leaders a big hug and go to the pub after Grin

Day by day, I'm doing OK, it's a bit like the summer holidays, and I can manage a cluster of days of little socialising, going for a run and doing local errands. I'm trying to ignore the big picture and just do each day.

Davros · 23/04/2020 13:31

Totally laurie. We got the dart board out yesterday which is great fun but a proper pub pint would improve it!

LaurieFairyCake · 23/04/2020 14:01

Yep Davros, I've no idea why a beer at home is just not the same

I'm sick of eating my own food and drinking my own coffee too

FrenchFancie · 23/04/2020 14:44

In the very short term - drop Dd at school as she’s an only and has missed her friends. Then hairdresser to sort my horror hair out, then to my local shops for a mooch and a coffee. Followed by an afternoon at the beach and a swim (we live in Cyprus, lockdown is more strict and the beaches are closed).
Longer term, book flights back to the U.K. to see everyone - I’ve never felt so far from home as I do now!!
