Does bed always follow bath for your DC?

Currently we do bath then go back downstairs for an hour until bedtime. We've always done it that way but LO is getting very hard to settle for bed so I'm wondering if it might make a difference doing bath then bed straight after?

LO is 16 months.

No, bath in this house for 2 year old is at 4pm and then back downstairs for play, and tea at around 6/7 followed by bed at 8/8.30. When the lockdown stops and I am back at work then I will have to bath him after work at 6pm, but he still would not go to bed until 8/8.30 or even later.

All children are different and have different routines :-)

I used to do the same as you but then switched to bath and straight to bed as it seemed to be making DD more unsettled to come back downstairs

Four (but had this routine since about 18 months), bath, cuddles in bed talking about the day we’ve had obviously he gives input now, then we have a story and he gets more cuddles and a little back rub.

Nope. Dinner as soon as DH home, followed immediately by bath. Then downstairs for an hour or so to spend some time with DH (he does the bath too). Then bedtime.

Sorry forgot to mention- if she is getting hard to settle, it may be worth trying bath then bed straight away- anythings worth a try

BrooHaHa · 22/04/2020 19:49

Generally, but sometimes we skip bath if we've not been out anywhere and are running short on time. It's not immediate though- it goes bath, pyjamas, milk (optional), teeth, story, potty, song. Tonight DD had a shower instead due to shortness of time. 22 months.

We’ve always done bath at 6, then back downstairs for a bit before bed at 7/7.30.

Bath and straight to bed for my 4 year old and 20 month old.

Before Corona we have always done, milk downstairs, then bath, teeth, stories then bed... Now it's supper, go for an hour walk.. quick shower, glass of milk downstairs with 30 mins of playtime/tv and then teeth, stories and bed and asleep by 8pm :)
